Sainsburys cheapo test. Irregular cycle, about 11-15 dpo. Checked test shortly after taking - nothing. Checked binning it an hour later. This..

Not sure if this is positive, thoughts welcome.

Did you post a pic?
If so, I cant see a pic?

Marmite133 · 22/09/2020 15:55

Can't see a pic??
Many people will tell you that's its invalid as not within the time frame. However, I read a very interesting article by a lab scientist (I think...??) explaining that if there's hcg there, the line will appear even if it's hours later after more urine has travelled over the line and therefore more hcg. He basically said there's no such thing as an evap and it's normally early pregnancy or sadly chemical if it is gone the next day. Was really interesting!
I disregarded some early cheapies that came up after as 'evaps' but turns out I was pregnant.
Fingers crossed for you!

Sorry, had difficulty uploading.

If it came up after an hour I wouldn't trust it. Get a pink dye first response and test again with fmu.

52andblue · 22/09/2020 15:59

couldn't be any clearer to me!

Mummyme87 · 22/09/2020 15:59

Would say you need a pink dye test. That I wouldn’t say is positive in my experience. Equally it could be but those tests aren’t reliable

RainorShine40 · 22/09/2020 16:00

If you are talking about a vertical line I can see one.

Ohwhatbliss · 22/09/2020 16:03

Get a pink test, I'm afraid I've had 2 false positives on blue dye tests, I don't trust them

Cherrybalm · 22/09/2020 16:05

I got a positive on a sainsburys test running it under water. how they are still allowed is beyond me

BubbleBoy12 · 22/09/2020 16:08

I had two false positives with blue dye, is there any chance you could test again with a pink die or digital? Good luck x

PutOnAHappyFace · 22/09/2020 16:10

If it's super thin then it's an evap sorry.

SylvanianFrenemies · 22/09/2020 16:35

Thanks everyone. Will get a pink dye test tomorrow - what a wait. We are not TTC after 4 successive losses (and two great DDs). So mixed feelings whatever the result!

These thin blue lines on these tests are often evap lines sorry xx

MummyToPrince · 22/09/2020 21:49

I always test with pink dye tests as I always find the blue ones do these funky things x

SylvanianFrenemies · 23/09/2020 14:30

Negative on a FRER today (not FMU though). I'm assuming that correct - no sign of period though, so will monitor and update in a few days in case anyone in a similar situation is reading.

Mixed feelings- was not at all hoping to be pregnant, but you can't help but daydream.

Got my period, for the reference of anyone in a similar position.
