Hello, has anyone had IVF with Epsom and St Helier? What was your experience like and how would you rate them? I’m beginning the process with them and have seen their stats are below national average but I know stats aren’t everything so trying to get a better picture. Also does anyone know if Surrey heartlands ccg allow transferring of funds? TIA x

I had an initial consultation there but found the doctor a joke so decided not waste my time and had a successful IVF privately elsewhere on the first go. I also had 2 friends who had their failed NHS cycles there and then got pregnant on their first attampts at good private clinics.

I suppose if you’re eligible for a NHS cycle, you could as well try but I wouldn’t waste my time if your clock is ticking.

@JoJoSM2 thank you. Ah that doesn't sound great. Yes I'm eligible for nhs will definitely look of transferring funds is possible. It's frustrating at the moment too all being phone consultations. It makes a difference physically meeting dr and seeing the clinic how they operate etc. Feels like going in blind.

There is a thread over in infertility about Epsom and St Helier which has more info. I also didn't have a great experience with the consultant and as we had to wait for 3 years TTC (unexplained) we decided to go privately, and had success on our 2nd round. Good luck with your 'journey'

@MorgenMuffel @JoJoSM2 thanks guys will try and find that other thread. I suppose naming them might not be allowed on here. But can I ask name of consultants you had. Maybe just put for example 'Miss D'? 😬

I just really don’t want to badmouth a specific doctor as they might have just had a bad day when they saw me. Also, DS is now 2 so some of the doctors might have changed since.

Generally, with NHS cycles you’ll see that the funds are limited so there’s less monitoring etc and success rates don’t compare to some of the private clinics. Eg a friend in another part of the coutry passed out from pain as she didn’t get any anaesthetic for her egg collection vs my clinic put me to sleep and offered drinks and biscuits when I woke up...

@JoJoSM2 I understand oh gosh your poor friend. That sounds horrific. Definitely somethings for me to think about & note. Thank you.
