Pics taken about 40 mins after the Tesco test. The silly reason I didn't look too closely straight after the test was that I didn't look at the instruction clearly and thought two straight lines meant pregnant, then it occurred to me that you have to have a + sign in the window Blush I haven't had my period yet since the baby was born 8 months ago.

So... do you think this means positive? The line is ever so faint. Are the Tesco tests known to give out v faint positives?

Do another with a pink dye test. Tesco and blue dyes are known to be unreliable especially as you read after 40 mins. Good luck

Waiting4another · 21/09/2020 12:09

I can see the line, but not sure you can trust the result if you didn’t look in the first 10 minutes or so. Probably a good idea to test again to be sure. Let us know how you go!

LifeIsAnArt · 21/09/2020 12:21

Thanks both! I just tried another one and pretty sure it's a negative, phew. What a morning it's been. Have been feeling a bit weird though the past week or so, so wouldn't be too surprised either if it's a positive.

I would still retest in a day or two with first morning urine just to be sure especially if your not having periods. Otherwise you might get a shock in a few month haha

EmbarrassingMama · 21/09/2020 12:42

Looks positive to me! FRER are £6 for 2 on Amazon atm, maybe get some and try again in the morning.

LifeIsAnArt · 21/09/2020 22:26

Good point, best to retest just to be sure, even tho I'd be shocked if I do get pregnant while breastfeeding with no periods AND having used contraception...!

Have made that Amazon order and will retest in a couple of days

I see what you are talking about, but I wouldn't take that as a positive. Certainly test again to be sure, but that test looks negative.

premum1 · 22/09/2020 07:55

Hey lovely, I'd definitely re-test with a reputable brand such as FRER or CB.. I used Tesco last month, had four faint but very clear positives, and it broke my heart having gotten AF a few days afterwards, they are sadly renowned for awful Evap lines!

Hope that it's good news for you though 💓

LifeIsAnArt · 23/09/2020 15:40

@premum1 oh no so sorry to hear about that, shocking quality, really! Shock

I bought FRER and will test tomorrow morning. Pretty sure it will be a negative (which is what I want this time) but will check just in case!

Tesco tests are so bad for false positives, i will never use one again after getting my hopes up last month, this was my test, I wasn't pregnant. Hope you get the result you want x

calimommy · 23/09/2020 22:46

Yeah the Tesco ones seem to have a shadow bit where the line is but this is not a positive

That looks just like mine!

Sorry to hear that you were let down by the test and better luck next time!Daffodil

I just looked up the reviews for Tesco brand test and they are awful. Grr why are they still selling them if they keep misleading...

@LifeIsAnArt
😂 I know what you mean! But then again it's definitely not a line is it? So technically it's not a positive as per their instructions. It's just that in reality most women hold them up to the light and squint while twirling anti clockwise on one leg... 🙈😂

sarahc336 · 24/09/2020 06:05

I am also another that would never use a Tesco own brand test again, I had the mis fortune of getting the very blue but very thin evap lines but was not pregnant. The tests are notorious for evap lines. Let us know how the frer goes as sone people will obviously test positive with them Smile

LifeIsAnArt · 24/09/2020 09:24

Tested this morning using FRER and it was negative, phew!
