How did you * know*? Early signs and old wives tales...

TTC baby2 and currently in the TWW. I’m over analysing every twinge or emotion.

Anyone remember feeling or recognising something within themselves before they took a test? I’ve been to see my sister and BiL today and they both said how good my skin was looking and how zen I am. Given I’m an acne ridden stress head I’m taking that as confirmation I’m pregnant (I jest...)

Oh and I still didn’t think I could be pregnant, it wasn’t til my mum gently suggested this could be the reason that I tested

With DD I went to an Indian restaurant and the smell was very strong, I threw up. I’m not usually bothered, so I knew then. With DS I had very vivid dreams

Nausea with my first. I was in a pub, ordered a glass of wine and the snell made me heave. Got a BFP that night.

With my second, I was suddenly, violently sick out of the blue one morning. Got a BFP a couple of days later.

With my first I didn’t realise at the time but looking back there were a couple of days when I felt absolutely starving. No matter what I ate I was still hungry. I commented about it on Facebook and it makes me smile now when it pops up years later knowing now that I was pregnant.

With my second I had caught a sickness bug from dd and Dh. I had been laid low for days and one day tucked up in the sofa with my sick bowl thought “surely I must be feeling better by now, why do I feel so so sick still” got up, did a test (I kept spares from dd1) and it was positive.

Not quite some of the fab woo ones on here but (especially with my second) it dawned on me quickly what it must be.

I had vertigo following an accident and it still plays up if I'm run down or ill. With both pregnancies I had a really bad dizzy day, even though I was physically fine and well rested.

Did a test off the back of that and was positive both times. Never had a random spell like it without an obvious cause except those times.

I’d be ttc for nearly 3 years, I occasionally had dreams where I took a pregnancy test but I clearly remember they were always negative. Then one month I had a very vivid dream where I took a pregnancy test and it was positive and in the dream I took test after test and they all had strong lines. Got my first ever bfp 2 days later and did indeed end up with loads of pregnancy tests as I kept testing obsessively!

My boobs are never sensitive and they just suddenly were! I'm now 27 weeks pregnant x

I had no idea. I did IVF and waited to test. I was certain it had not worked and tested only so that I could stop the meds. And voila!

When pregnant with my 2 girls, I felt sick a couple of days before my period was due.

I also had a couple of miscarriages in between the 2 girls, and both times, I just KNEW I was pregnant. It sounds so ridiculous, but within a day of having sex, I just knew. It was the strongest, most overpowering feeling. Both pregnancies ended by 7 weeks. I always wonder why I had such strong instincts with the pregnancies that never worked out. Strange.

Was on holiday. I was so thirsty. Literally downed pints and pints of tap water. Couldn't stop. And I don't normally like tap water. Then suddenly feeling like I was going to faint. Dizziness and suddenly out of nowhere felt like I was really drunk and needed to sit down.

Once I did the test, it all made sense!

Felt little sharp electric shock pain around the ovarys and like someone had put a plug in and turned the electric on!

Mega sore boobs. That was about it, and tbf I get that as a pms symptom too, but it was much worse when preggers. Also, at about 6 weeks both times I got a very specific twinge. It felt for all the world like something was poking me very low down. Quite a short, sharp jab. Noticeable enough for me to remember but very short-lived. Hard to explain but only ever experienced it during pregnancy. I'd had my bfp by then though so I guess it's not a tww sign.

Super sensitive nipples. Diarrhoea (sorry tmi). And I got a cold in the middle of spring when no one else did and apparently that can sometimes happen as your immune system is a bit lower.

With DS I just knew, no idea how, something in me just knew, I wasn't late yet, but I just knew. Too scared to take a test at the time. Went out for dinner with a few friends, I turned green when I walked in and ran to the toilet. My friends went out and bought me a test, and of course, it was positive.
With my MMC earlier this year, I started getting weird bumps on my nipples, Googled it and came back as a pregnancy sign, we'd been trying, so I was over the moon it happened so quickly. With the CP, the smell of coffee was awful. And with this current pregnancy, I had no idea, realised I was due on either that day or the next day, went out to buy some sanitary products as I'd run out and my OH threw a test at me and said I may as well take it just in case, I shook my head and said I didn't feel pregnant in the slightest, couldn't be. Took the test anyway, came up bright pink positive within seconds. 12 week scan in a weeks time 🤞
