Hi,
Me and my partner are TTC, I had my implant removed the 17th and my last period ended 2 days before implant removal. I always have had irregular period even before the implant. Just looking to see people's stories when TTC after implant removal

OP posts:

I had a ds 9 months and 10 days post removal... No period first.

peppasworld · 18/09/2020 23:30

Hey! 💓
I had my implant removed on 4th August, and AF came 4 weeks to the day after removal! I ovulate yesterday, so it was a little 'late' in my cycle however I'm so glad I appear to be back to normal!

It can take a while though for your body to get back to normal! I was really stressed about getting my period etc, and as soon as I stopped worrying, I got it! So stress and pressure do definitely play a part in it all. Xx

Hi OP
The first time I had my implant out I had a short withdrawal bleed then conceived DS 45 days later without ever getting AF. This time the implant came out on 1 September and still no AF, just a massive hormone rollercoaster. Tested just in case and BFN...

Hi,
I'm in the same boat. Dying to know how soon others conceived after implanon removal.
My last AF started 12th September and I had my implant removed on 23rd September (would of had it removed sooner but doctors appts are hard to get now due to Covid) The doctor that removed it said fertility should return immediately and I could start trying straight away as I was mid-cycle. My cycle is average 28 days with AF lasting 5-6 days, even while on implanon.
So myself and SO got right to it... Hoping that it doesn't take long to get pregnant as we just bought a house (getting the keys next week) and it would be just amazing to find out we're expecting at the same time! Wishful thinking... I know!
Sending baby dust and best wishes your way ♥️🌼 good luck!

Waiting4another · 29/09/2020 00:13

I am 4 weeks after removal today, still no AF and have been tracking daily with OPKs for the last couple of weeks, but no ovulation either. So just twiddling my thumbs here hoping my body wakes up soon and gets cracking...

Rumble11 · 29/09/2020 02:43

Hi OP. I had my implant removed last year in May, think I was 4 weeks after when AF appeared for me. After that I was back to my normal 28 days.

We didn’t start trying until the September, had a chemical in the November. Stopped trying from April this year due to me being flat out at work with corona (work in food retail) the stress really affected my cycles they ended up a lot longer than my usual 28 days and was just too tired and drained to even consider :( but we started again this month. Ovulated 2 days ago so fingers crossed!

Good luck to you!

Hi everyone! Joining this thread! Smile

Had my implant removed 15th September - I've always had regular 'periods' since on implant and my cycle is about 32 days.

AF the evening I had my implant out for 5 days.
Started to DTD the following week and approaching my fertile window! I ovulate on Saturday so fingers crossed.

I'm hoping it doesn't take a long time

Good luck everyone xx

Waiting4another · 01/10/2020 10:30

So lucky those that keep their regular AF with the implant. It is so frustrating not knowing if or when my AF plans on returning!
Good luck Rumble and Flo with regular cycles you are half way there...

Bertyb7 · 01/10/2020 10:50

Hi OP, I had my implant removed on 13 May, AF arrived on 6 June and then started TTC as soon as first AF finished. Cycles are quite regular but my luteal phase has been short since so I am trying to do all I can to lengthen it. It is now at 10 days having started at 7. I never really tracked my cycles before going on the implant so could have always had a short luteal phase for all I know! On cycle 5 now, 5dpo and my fingers are crossed that this will be our lucky month!

Wishing you all the luck for your TTC journey! Smile

queenatom · 01/10/2020 13:08

Hi @Bertyb7, I have had a very similar experience to you. Implant out on 1 July, now four cycles in and my LP has slowly crept up from 7 to 10 days. Hoping I can get a little longer this cycle (9 months would be ideal but I'll settle for 12 days!)

Best of luck in the TWW - currently 2/3DPO so I'm not far behind you!

lucymagoo · 01/10/2020 13:20

I came off the implant in May 19, stayed on the pill until Dec 19 and conceived last month Smile

Caskio · 08/10/2020 11:28

Hi.

I’m new to this, love reading all your messages.
I had the implant in for 7years had it taken out 4 sep 20. Still waiting for my period to start 🙁.
Feel like I'm going insane.
Good luck to everyone.

Waiting4another · 08/10/2020 12:22

I am in the same boat @Caskio
Mine was out 1 September and still nothing
You might want to do the occasional pregnancy test here and there as it is possible to get pregnant without ever getting your AF back, that happened to me last time...

Caskio · 08/10/2020 12:29

@Waiting4another I have... Done about 5 over the last months and all negative. Just keeping my fingers crossed but is dishearting everytime there is another negative test. Gets hard go keep your head up and not dwell on it.
Thank you for the message, it's nice to know that it's not just me. And we can encourage us all to stay positive

Soily26 · 08/10/2020 13:07

Decided we wanted to start TTC but I called this morning to make an appointment to have mine removed and was told they're not removing them unless it's an emergency and that I could have to wait until January if not longer Sad
Interesting to hear everyone's experiences after getting it removed, good luck to everyone.

Waiting4another · 08/10/2020 13:20

oh no @Soily26 that’s tough!
I wanted mine out in July, but everything got delayed because of COVID, but I guess I am lucky I was even able to get it out this year at all by the sounds of it...

Waiting4another · 08/10/2020 13:23

@Caskio - it can be hard not to get disheartened, but I keep thinking how many ladies on these forums have been TTC for well over a year and I guess I feel totally blessed in comparison. I guess we just have to trust our bodies to kick into hear when they are good and ready...

Waiting4another · 08/10/2020 13:24

ergo, gear not hear!

Waiting4another · 08/10/2020 13:25

and argh not ergo !

Caskio · 08/10/2020 13:35

@Waiting4another Definitely counting my blessings for what I have got a not what I haven’t got. my heart truly goes out to all those TTC and are struggling a good friend of mine is currently waiting for IVF.

@Soily26 that is annoying, I was worried that they where going to say that to me. I hope that date comes forward for you. Good luck 💖

RosieJess91 · 08/10/2020 14:15

I had my implant removed almost a year ago today, think it was the 17th or something like that. I found out I was pregnant beginning of January. Unfortunately I lost that baby in April. I found out I was pregnant again in July and I am now 15 weeks pregnant 😊
I found it took me a while to get back to normal, I don't think my AF reappeared until end of November. Then between the miscarriage and new Pregnancy, I was all over the place. I thought I was 4 weeks pregnant when I found out, but according to my dating scan, I would have been over 5 weeks. So prepare to possibly be all over the place for a little while.

DNpink82 · 08/10/2020 15:50

I had my implant out on 11th August after 10 years and still no AF, I had some spotting 25/26th September but never turned into anything. I've peed on about 100 opk's which are telling me I'm not ovulating as they don't show anything much more than a very faint line but I feel like I have ovulation pain pretty much constantly. Silver lining is I've never DTD so much, my poor DH 🤣 I POAS once a week just to check. I'm 38 so I'm getting a little obsessed that I need it to happen soon 🙈

DNpink82 · 08/10/2020 15:52

@Soily26 You need to ring and push for it to be removed, despite Covid it's your body. Are there any sexual health clinics near by that you could try?

Soily26 · 08/10/2020 16:31

Thanks @Waiting4another and @Caskio fingers crossed it isn't that long!

@DNpink82 It was my local sexual health clinic I spoke to, my GP put me through to them. I was thinking I should try call back cause surely they can't force me to keep it in.
It was due to be taken out at the end of the month and I think the woman got the wrong end of the stick about why I wanted it removed 'cause she told me it's okay to keep it in, it will last up to 4 years!
Fingers crossed for you, hoping that it happens soon!

Waiting4another · 09/10/2020 05:36

@DNpink82 😮 11 August! I so feel your pain! My OPKs are the same, but I have read that the peaks can be very easy to miss on OPKs and that the most reliable way to tell is temping. I am not cut out for temping though, so half considering getting Ovusense, not cheap though!
