Ovulation pain..?! Or something else..

So I got my BFP ovulation test yesterday, finally!! 🎉
Today I've been having period like pains shooting across the bottom of my stomach, and predominantly on the left lower side.. could this be ovulation pains? Or something else maybe?

I'm really confused as it honestly feels like AF is coming with the type of pains I'm experiencing?!

I've googled (I know, probably shouldn't have) 😂 and it says that it could be implantation pains, but surely it's too early for that having only ovulated (I think) yesterday?

Has anybody had this before?? It's really weird!

Yes, it could be Smile

@Kay00 thank you - I'm really not sure what this pain is, I've honestly never felt like it it's so sharp and twingey (if that's the right word!) it literally feels like AF is on the way any moment! God I hope it isn't .... 😳😟

I get ovulation pains every month. My lower left side (although occasionally on the right).
It's an intense twinge and lasts a good couple of hours. It's quite common

Midnight0 · 18/09/2020 21:51

I have these pains around ovulation as well. Quite intense cramps.

Mistymonday · 18/09/2020 21:54

I get this at ovulation every month.

@willithappen thank you for confirming 💓😌 it's my first time TTC so really new to this!

peppasworld · 18/09/2020 22:01

@Midnight0 yes these are really strong cramps! Comparable to AF! X

Kirky658 · 19/09/2020 08:54

@ttc97 I also get this! I'm told it's quite common, it's also known as Mittelschmertz (ie mid cycle pain).

Sorry to jump on here.

But I was told I have an anovulatory cycle. The one time I was tested I didn't have the spike, but they also said that could of been due to it not being done at the right time!

Very confusing. I'm TTC but for the first time in a long time I got EWCM a couple days before I was "due" to ovulate and then I am 5dpo if I did that is. I know I should have checked but I'm sick of testing and being disappointed. I do have PCOS might I add.

Anyway just wondering if anyone has felt extremely tired after they've ovulated, (if I did) as I am right now the last couple days nothing in my life has been different but im sleeping a lot and I feel so tired constantly! I've never had this feeling at any point of my cycle since puberty.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or has any idea of what it could be?

Kay00 · 08/10/2020 09:46

I think high levels of progesterone can cause tiredness and you get progesterone after ovulation, so could indicate (along with your EWCM) that you ovulated. Hopefully you're in your TWW!

hopesanddreamsx · 08/10/2020 11:17

@Kay00 yeah I was hoping the same! I'm not usually one to symptom watch and I know it's too early for pregnancy signs but whether I've ovulated or not my periods have always been so regular and predictable and then now; with all the things I'm doing to reduce the symptoms this has happens for the first time and the tiredness I've never ever experience before I mean I'm having 7 hours a night and about 3/4 hour nap after work, it's just not me!

Also the on and off cramping around my lower tummy, and backache! It's just all so new, and I just don't wanna get my hopes up but for even the chance i may have ovulated it's just one step in the right direction you know?

Cycles are confusing enough but I'm just looking for some positive changes for ones! Fingers crossed hey

hopesanddreamsx · 08/10/2020 11:18

@Kay00 the PCOS symptoms I meant! Sorry*
