So I'm still waiting for Ovulation to occur.. and going a bit stir crazy 😜

It's cycle day 17 in my first cycle since removal of my rod / implant. I'd had the rod for 6 years prior to removal, but I do remember that my cycles before I had the rod inserted, were like clockwork and on time every single month without fail.

Now, I'm TTC for our first and worried that ovulation may never happen! I'm on cycle day 17, Sunday would have been day 14 so the average ovulation day for average women, but obviously for me that wasn't the case.

I've been tracking ovulation using OPK's but I'm getting no spikes in colour / darker lines.. they're all just faint.

I've attached a pic of my recent tests, Sunday - Wednesday (today) do you think they're progressing..? 🤷‍♀️🤞🏼

I really need some hope to hold on to. I know it's cycle one of probably many, but last experiences have meant that I'm worried slightly more than usual, without going into detail.

Please, any help is greatly appreciated! ☺️🥰

They definitely look like they are getting darker to me!

I am just about to start my first cycle, just waiting for withdrawal bleed after stopping the pill Sunday

tryingtobemamma · 16/09/2020 18:52

@AMS19 ah that's great, thank you for saying! I feel like I've gone a little bit mad having looked at them for so long 😂

Ohh hope it all goes well for you! Exciting times ahead 💓

I was using those kinds of OPKs for months and months and found I was never getting a dark enough result. I switched to clear blue digital this month for the first time after 16 months of trying and with them I got blank circle on the first day of use (CD11) then flashing smiley (CD 12,13 and 14) then a static smiley CD15 when all my apps I've tried using were predicting ovulation around CD20...so even though they are more pricey I think il stick to them in future. Worth a thought if you find you don't get on with the strips.

I'm now CD 26.. my cycles have been irregular since I stopped BC in May last years but I average around 32/33 CD. Yesterday I had pink/red tinge on tissue when wiping one time and nothing since. That would have been around 8/9dpo. Going to wait til Sunday to test if I don't keel over before then 😂 wishing you luck on your journey🤞🏼✨

AMS19 · 16/09/2020 18:55

@tryingtobemamma how are you finding it all so far? I would expect if it is your first cycle it might take a little bit of time for things to get totally back to normal!

tryingtobemamma · 16/09/2020 18:56

@Unicornsparklez ohh how exciting for you, I've got my fingers crossed! 💓🥰🤞🏼

I've got the clear blue ov tests actually, I've just misplaced the test reader so need to find that again 😅😂 I will try one and see what it says..

I feel like I'm going mad thinking there's some kind of line progression, in this picture when I'm not sure that there actually is!! 😨

@AMS19 so far I'm doing okay thank you! It's new to us, and scary and there's so much to know, but we are just taking it in our stride and enjoying it 😇
It will probably take a while, your right 💓 it's so hard when you've got a thought in your head and want to be PG so badly 🙊

I had AF almost 4 weeks to the day of rod removal which was interesting! Xx

@tryingtobemamma oh wow your cycle was pretty quick to jump back then. I've been on the pill for 7 years so not expecting mine to be that quick.

Yeah its quite overwhelming isn't it. I told myself I wouldnt get obsessed and found myself looking at nursarys on Pinterest earlier 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ xx

tryingtobemamma · 16/09/2020 19:03

@AMS19 yes I was really surprised at how fast it came back! Especially since the implant nurse that removed it told me it could be anywhere from 1 week to 6/7 months before I see AF! 😳

My family are all extremely fertile and fall pregnant practically the moment they decide to TTC! so I'm hoping some of their luck will rub off onto me!!

I'm sat here at the moment having lower stomach pains / twinges.. feels almost like AF cramping but they're coming in waves, and not quite so painful. I wonder if it could be ovulation pain?! I really hope so! Maybe I'm thinking too much into it! 😂🤔 xx

@tryingtobemamma oh exciting yes maybe it is! Either way I think you need to seize the opportunity with the other half just in case 🤣🤣

I'm going to actually use condoms until my first full period comes just to get to know my body. Then from then it will be all go! I think I'll try BBT checking and ovulation tests for the first couple of cycles then just assume similar days going forward but try not to monitor. I'm too obsessive about things so will tear myself away 🤣🤣

Xx

tryingtobemamma · 16/09/2020 19:10

@AMS19 yes we will baby dance tonight 😅😂 never thought I'd be saying anything like that 😅😂

Ahh I want to try temping, if this cycle doesn't go to plan I may well give that a go! I've got absolutely zero self control.. so not sure how I'd be not taking my little ovulation strips every day! 🙊🙊 xx

OP posts:
AMS19 · 16/09/2020 19:13

@tryingtobemamma I'm gonna do BBT and OPKs at the same time to see how accurate the BBT is. That seems an easy thing to do, lying there on the morning taking my temp, but let's see.

Exciting times, keep me updated on any developments xx

tryingtobemamma · 16/09/2020 19:19

@AMS19 so exciting for us both! I will do, and you too! Best of luck 💫 xx

Update to include the test I've JUST done this eve.. I think it looks slightly darker still.. 🤷‍♀️🤞🏼

@tryingtobemamma yeah looks darker, when they re a bit darker I'd test twice a day. I had negative tests up until 11pm Monday night when the second line was as dark as control, and then by Tuesday midday the line was really faint - it's easy to miss your peak if you have a short one x
