Did I fail to ovulate again?

Last cycle my body tried to ovulate but failed, then successfully ovulated 3 weeks after. Fast forward to current cycle, I had a positive opk yesterday morning but then was negative by the afternoon and negative today. I had really strong cramps last night which I thought was ovulation pains (I got them last cycle too when I successfully ovulated). My bbt hasn’t risen today though so I’m thinking I failed to ovulate again. Any thoughts?

@Nam095 You can ovulate from 12-72 hours after you get your positive OPK, so its possible you will ovulate today. If your temperature doesn't rise then I would suggest that you will ovulate later in the month as you did last month (my first two cycles were exactly the same).

Out of interest what temperatures did you jump to after ovulation last month?

@Kay00 thanks for your reply ☺️ If my bbt doesn’t rise tomorrow then I’m going to assume I haven’t ovulated. Last month it didn’t go up by much but definitely higher, and it started to drop steadily from 9 dpo

@Nam095 your last cycle looks very similar to my 1st/2nd cycles :) i'm on my 3rd cycle now and I have managed to reduce my follicular phase to 17 days, ovulation on CD18 and i'm currently 8DPO I think taking B-Vitamin complex CD1 to CD10 helped bring on ovulation earlier.

@Kay00 so my temp has gone up today! But FF thinks I ovulated the day before I got my peak 🤔 I don’t know if that’s accurate though. But if it is I’ll be pretty annoyed because that was the only day my OH and I didn’t DTD.

Hi @Kay00 I think its probably more likely that you ovulated on CD13 as this is after your peak OPK and when you temperature really starts to rise. But even if you ovulated on CD11 you are still in with a really good chance as sperm can live inside your body, waiting for the egg, for up to a week. That's why they recommend DTD every other day as sufficient for TTC you're in the TWW now, good luck!

@Kay00 yeah I’m thinking CD13 as well! Is there a way to override what FF has suggested?

@Nam095 I don't think so. Its possible FF was correct but it might change itself if it thinks i was wrong in hindsight. Keep entering your data for the rest of the month and see what it says [smiles]
