Was it AF...?

So I had what I believe to have been my first period after the nexplanon removal on 3rd August last month!

I didn't have any withdrawal / breakthrough bleeding, but what I believe to be AF began on 31st August lasting 4 days.

It was heavy then light heavy then light but continuous for those four days without a break.
Does it sound like it was AF..?

I thought breakthrough bleeding happens fairly soon after removal, so I'm hoping that this was my AF, and not just a breakthrough bleed since it was a while after removal. 🙊🤞🏼

I'm only wondering as I'm now trying to track ovulation to TTC, but I'm not getting any positive OPK's yet 🤷‍♀️

What were your experiences with AF after coming off of the implant / other contraception?

Prior to TTC my DS I was on the pill for 14 years. I came off of that and fell pregnant in my second cycle, I didn't do any tracking or anything. I had Nexplanon put in a few months after giving birth.

I didn't have a withdrawal bleed when I had my Nexplanon removed, but I had continuous light bleeding for the 6-7 months I had it in (part of the reason I had it removed so early).

I had my first proper AF 24 days after removal.

Based on your dates I'd say it's likely your 31st August bleed was AF. It'll be impossible to predict when you will ovulate as it'll be influenced by a load of different factors, but I'd guess it could be anywhere from CD14-21. Your OPK may not go positive until literally the day before ovulation so I'd just keep testing once a day until you get at least a hint of something.

This was mine from this month, you'll see how it literally peaked within hours after being practically white.

Good luck!
