Hey!

So, I'm due to get my implant removed in a few weeks and I want to do everything I can to get myself ready and prepare my body but have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any advice, firstly, on the best way to stop vaping? The thing is never out my hand, and I dont want to fall pregnant then try and stop, so any advice, if anyones kicked it, would be greatly appreciated. Another question is are there any recommended vitamins etc I should look into, and when is best to start taking them?

TIA for any advice/info

Can't help on the vaping, but looking at NHS website folic acid before conception and up to 3 months pregnant and vitamin D seems to be all that us recommended assuming you have an otherwise balanced diet.
I know many people take pregnacare etc, but my midwife said it's not really necessary. I decided to save the money!

I know some cigarette smokers (very heavy) had success with champix tablets where patches etc had failed, just not sure if vaping works the same.

Good luck!

@belle1983 thanks so much for your reply. There's just so much info available I feel like I'm being suffocated with it all 🙈 and when I read threads on here I dont understand half the jargon its making me more confused lol.

Take folic acid from today.

Swap the vape filling to a nicotine free one.

@HopefulFTM I conceived quicker than expected, so hadn't started things in advance.
I then had no contact for months with the midwife so I've just relied on NHS websites.
There's so much info out there it is confusing.

Hi there
Good for you getting things in place!
I'm also a vaper, and have noticed mine seems to be stuck to my hand. I was already on very low nicotine though but even I noticed my habit was becoming excessive, especially working from home!
My advice....swap to a low or no nicotine and treat it like a cigarette. As in, put it out of reach or somewhere where you'd have to go to use it (the back door, kitchen, a separate room) and spend a few mins vaping them put it away again. Hopefully that'll reduce the usage with the hope you can stop completely by the time or when you fall pregnant.
As for vitamins, the NHS website suggests folic acid and vit d....both are readily available from supermarkets/chemists. However there is nothing wrong with the prenatal vitamins which have those and extras....shop own brands are just as good and often on offer so cost effective.....but that's your choice on what you take.
Good luck to you!

@Candyflosscrochet what a cute name 😍 yeah, my OH suggested having "smoke breaks" and going out to the garden to eventually put me off. I'm currently on .06 nicotine in 30ml liquid so will try a half shot when I get my next refill then hopefully I can come off it totally.

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz thanks so much, will take a trip to the shops tomorrow and pick some up.

@Belle1983 thats so good you conceived quickly, hopefully we are as lucky and can look forward to a summer/autumn bundle 🥰

Thanks ladies Xx
