Cycling during tww

Hi all, I’m currently trying to relax during the tww but finding it difficult! I’m around 12dpo, had a bfn and still no sign of AF although I know she could come any day.

My question was is it ok to cycle to work?
It’s around 8 miles each way, I’m also not a very confident cyclist so I do get very hot and flustered.
Last week it occurred to me there was a possibility I could be pregnant and obviously I wouldn’t want to do anything to affect implantation or risk my chance of having a chemical pregnancy as I had one last year so I’m really unsure on what the safest thing to do is.

Any advice or experience on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 😊

Hi @Mildred01 - I didn't want to read and run. By no means an expert but I believe the general advice regarding exercise is that if you've been doing something consistently before then your usually good to keep going as normal. Have you been cycling for a number of months or is it something you've just started?

Another question would be: will this concern distract you while cycling? Cycling is a form of transport I really enjoy but I've had to admit to myself that doing it when I'm running late/worried/otherwise distracted has, several times, nearly caused me to do stupid things like almost run into curbs, almost run red lights etc. If that's the case for you as well I might avoid it until you're more comfortable with the idea.

Going to pop a link in here as well!

Not sure how anyone in the Netherlands would ever have children if they could not cycle to work!

Hi @TTCAbroad, thanks so much for your reply and link which I found very useful. It also made me laugh, as yes- I was worried it might ‘fall out!’

Cycling is very new to me- I have only recently just started and my boss wanted me to cycle in and avoid the bus due to Covid-19.
I cycled only once for a commute and on the way back I jumped off the bike because I was so tired and achey, then I felt like I was ‘falling out of myself’ -interpret that how you like! It was at that moment I then thought to myself ‘omg there is a small possibility you could be pregnant!’

I worried myself so much about it I had to ask others!! I do agree with you, Im not confident or comfortable enough so until I know I will give it a miss.

Thank you so much for your advice, it’s been very helpful and reassuring. The link is also a great read !! Smile

@Mildred01 I had to look up whether I could do burpies - the logical part of my brain said 'obviously yes' and the illogical part (which got louder while TTC) was like 'definitely NOT, you'll shake it loose'!

I'm glad you found the link useful, and I hope you find a good solution for your commute! And best of luck TTC Smile
