Hi ladies

I am taking my last pill tomorrow then plan to use condoms for the next month or two and start TTC from late Nov/early Dec.I am so intrigued how my body will react after being on the pill for 7 years.

There are so many apps and tracking devices (thermometers/ovulation sticks) and I'm so confused by all the lingo 🤣🤣

Anyone else feel this is a whole new world and totally confused by it all!

Good luck!
I was on some form of contraceptive for 15 years and came off it in December, we used condoms until April, I got a positive test in July which sadly ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks but got another positive last week which I’m hoping will be my sticky baby bean!

Be prepared for your cycles to go a little crazy, I didn’t bleed for 2 months when I come off and then I’d go 6 weeks without a bleed but by April they’d sorted themselves out xx

@Littlebee1990 ah huge congratulations on your positive news! Sending lots and lots a baby sticky dust. How are you feeling?

Yes I am so intrigued as to what my cycles will be like. I'm trying not to worry too much but hearing some stories is making me feel slightly anxious.

Did you use an apps /opks etc to help get pregnant? Xx

Thank you so much!

I’m happy, petrified and tired! Only symptom I have right now is being unable to sleep for longer than 90 minutes at a time.. google tells me it’s all the hormones.

For the first few months we just went by my app (FLO) however I then started using OPKs and measuring my BBT and I actually found out I ovulated a week later than the app suggested so I’d been missing my window!

Don’t be anxious as that’ll delay it even more, it’s great that you’re getting ahead of the game and will know your body for when you’re ready to TTC xx

@Littlebee1990
I'm so so excited for you

You are totally right. I think after a month or two once I know what my body is doing I will feel much better about it all. I'm going to use OPKs and temp check when I am not trying to get an idea on how my cycle is working, then try to stop when I start trying to it is a more relaxed approach. Sounds backwards I know!

Xx

I was planning on taking my last one today and then stopping. I wouldn't say we are actively TTC but we have decided to stop taking precautions and just see what happens. However just realised that a friend and I have booked to go for a spa weekend in mid October and I really don't want to have that ruined by a crazy cycle! So I think I will continue for one more month.

I think realistically the changes of me falling pregnant are slim as we don't dtd that often Blush but I'm still excited about the possibility.

@Patbutcherismyhero
There are always plans getting in the way arent there 😂 i plan to use condoms for the next month, then just have sex normally (which is also very unlikely to get my pregnant given how infrequent it is) then start trying properly from November/December time.

A spa might be the perfect time to start properly trying. I will definitely miss being able to control my periods and skip my week off when I have a holiday 😂

I took my last pill last tues, not ttc until next year though.
@AMS19 and @Patbutcherismyhero don't think it won't happen, the month we conceived dc1 we only dtd twice that month, once at the start of the month and once at the end of the month lol

AMS19 · 13/09/2020 09:42

@Minnie123456 oh wow! I definitely don't want it to happen this month hence using condoms. But although December would be the ideal I will be more relaxed about it if it happens in Oct/Nov. I am taking my last pill today, then it is a waiting game to see what my body does post the first bleed.

Have you come off early just to give your body time to get back to normal?

Patbutcherismyhero · 13/09/2020 09:51

It does only take once as they say! In some ways I'm impatient to get started. Already have dc from a previous relationship who are junior school age so there will be a big age gap.

Minnie123456 · 13/09/2020 09:58

@AMS19 yes as my cycles where irregular when not on the pill. I was also put on a new pill the end of last year but I don't like it.

@Patbutcherismyhero there will be a big each gap between dc1 and #2 if it happens as well, dc1 is 7 now

AMS19 · 13/09/2020 10:11

@Minnie123456 @Patbutcherismyhero
You both seem super prepared coming off early so I have good feelings for you both!
