Hi Everyone

Just looking for a bit of reassurance really from anyone who has an older partner that it didn’t take forever for them ttc 😊

I’m 30 and my partner is 40.. 41 in December we started trying to conceive in May when I came off my pill.

I know it doesn’t happen the first time much to all of our annoyance but you get reading on the internet and a male partner over 40 majorly reduces your chances..

Just after a bit of reassurance from any of you out there it does happen 😂

We managed in 1st month of ttc with DC1 when I was 30 and DH 50, 2nd month of trying with DC2 and 4th month of trying with DC3 (maybe took longer because I was still breastfeeding a lot and not finding that many chances to DTD!)

@LBTM thanks so much for that it’s made me feel a lot better! You read stupidly all these articles online and you get your head in such a mess that you convince yourself it’s never going to happen to you!

Hi OP, I don't have any reassurance for you but am in a similar situation so interested to see any other replies on here.
I am 31 and my partner is 43 and we have just started TTC. I am a little worried about his age but we both really want to be parents and I guess you just have to try and see what happens.
Fingers crossed for us all! x

I'm 29 and my partner is 44, we have a 4 year old and I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant.
Our 4 year old was an accident, we had only been together 3 months when I found out I was pregnant.
With this one, I had the implant out in October, I fell pregnant in January, sadly I miscarried in April, then I was pregnant again by the end of May, but again, miscarried. Then I found out I was pregnant again in July, and this ones latched on and I saw it wriggling round on the screen today!

I conceived first child in 1st month of TTC when I was 30 and DH was 40. Then conceived second child accidentally 16m later, when not TTC at all!

I will likely be flamed for this, but DH is 60 and we conceived within half a year. DS is bonny, happy and healthy, but we don’t plan on any more, much as I’d love another. 40 is nothing, OP, go for it'
