Am I almost ovulating..?!

Hello!
Please excuse my lack of knowledge in cycles and ovulation, it's my first month and likewise my first time TTC for our first baby ❤️

I came off the implant on 4th August, had AF 31st aug - 4th Sept (so almost 4 weeks to the day after stopping birth control) and accordingly to my FLO app, I am due to ovulate on 13th sept and am currently in my fertile window 😇

I am currently experiencing extremely watery discharge when wiping and also in my underwear Blush

I've never noticed this before.. could this be a build up to eventually ovulating? I have done a little research and it doesn't look like EWCM (which I believe is most fertile CM...) just yet, it's just clear and watery / slippery..

We are planning to DTD as much as possible In the coming days to ensure we don't miss my peak, as my ovulation tests are not coming back as positive just yet and this is my 1st cycle following removal of contraception..

Can anybody help me? 😚🥰

Hello! I'm not 100% sure if you'll be due to ovulate but I'd DTD every day or so to give yourself the best chance 😊
My first cycle I didn't ovulate so it was only 19 days, 2nd cycle now and I tested from day 5 and got a peak on day 17 but trying to DTD every 2nd day x

Kay00 · 10/09/2020 09:08

Hi @ttc97 I never get EWCM, I just get the watery CM around my peak fertile period, so get DTD!!

ttc97 · 10/09/2020 12:09

@Laurenemma13 thanks so much for your help! I'm really hoping that I will ovulate this time around.. I am using OPK's but not seeing any change in them / that they are getting darker.. I am due to ovulate on Sunday so I've got my fingers crossed.. j am definitely experiencing the CM! Xx

@Kay00 that's good to know! Thank you so much, I think I'm much the same by the looks of it - loads of watery CM but nothing that really looks like EWCM as yet! 🤔 x

Hi, providing his sperm is healthy it will live inside you for 4 or 5 days waiting for an egg. They swim in the ewcm. The egg once ovulated lasts 12 to 24 hours. It takes about 6-8 hours I think for the first sperm to swim to where they need to be. So you ideally want the swimmers there already once you ovulate as the egg doesn’t last long. Don’t stress if you don’t dtd every day as the sperm lasts.
Good luck!

@LittleTiger007 that's amazing thank you so much for the advice! I will aim to DYD as much as possible to try to prepare for the egg! ❤️

FYI. I was told that girl sperm swim slowly and get there last but have more stamina and hang around for days. Boy sperm gets there quickly but die off quickly (if no egg) ... my friend has had a number of children and she successfully chose the gender of her children this way! (Ie sex right when you ovulate creates boys and sex a couple of days before you ovulate creates girls) 🤣
I’m going to be happy either way! I found it interesting though.
Have fun trying!

I used the clear blue digital opk with the smiley face.. highly recommend. It’s good to know the exact date you ovulated so you know when you can start doing pregnancy tests!
Good luck!

Laurenemma13 · 10/09/2020 16:59

@ttc97 that's fab! I didn't test the first month the way I should and then with the short cycle I used the clearblue as well this month which worked well. Were dtd every 2 days or more. I'm knackered lol 😂

ttc97 · 10/09/2020 17:29

@LittleTiger007 that's so interesting, how amazing is the human body 😍 I'm so excited for this journey but hoping I don't end up with heartache 🤞🏼

@JemimaTiggywinkle thank you! I've recently bought those too, I keep getting blank circles at the moment though which is horrible.. I'm due to ovulate according to flo on 13th so not many days to go now.. it's hard having no idea what's happening. Xx

JemimaTiggywinkle · 10/09/2020 17:38

Keep with it.. will be worth it when you get your first smiley face.
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to Flo if this is your first cycle.. it won’t have any of your data to go off so won’t really be able to predict anything accurately yet.
If you’ve only just come off the implant your first cycle might be a really long one.

Laurenemma13 · 10/09/2020 18:02

I wouldn't worry too much about the blank circles, most apparently will base it on the average but a lot of woman dont ovulate on that exact day or even the same day each month xx

ttc97 · 10/09/2020 19:32

@JemimaTiggywinkle I was thinking the same to be honest! I think it's calculated ovulation 14 days after my AF arrived, so still not sure if that will be their day' or not! Arghh this is so frustrating, I just want to know what my body is doing! 😂😖

Also, maybe a random one.. I've noticed I've got an extremely heightened sense of smell at the moment, it's really unusual for me, I've never noticed it before now! could that mean anything?!

OP posts:
LittleTiger007 · 10/09/2020 19:46

I have a heightened sense of smell too and I have just had a bfp!! It’s a squinter but it’s pink and def there! DH sees it too. Just praying this is sticky as we had a miscarriage in July.

Def use the clear blue ovulation predictor. At first that is soul destroying doing it each day, but in future months you won’t pee on as many sticks as you will have a better idea of your cycle.

ttc97 · 10/09/2020 19:51

@LittleTiger007 ohh interesting, I hope that's a good sign for me then! It sounds ridiculous but i can smell literally everythinggggg it's mad 😂 xx

LittleTiger007 · 11/09/2020 06:24

That’s hopefully a good sign @ttc97! We have a couple of dogs and the place is kept clean naturally so a doggy smell is not normal, but currently my nose is not happy! I’m being hyper vigilant about cleanliness as my nose is picking up on everything!

LittleTiger007 · 11/09/2020 06:26

Fingers crossed that you start to get a smiley face today @ttc97!

ttc97 · 11/09/2020 09:45

@LittleTiger007 ahh sounds exactly like me! Yes I hope to start seeing some kind of progression on the OPK's today 🤞🏼 I almost feel like it's never going to happen! 😂😅
