Hello!
So me and my partner have agreed for me to stop taking my mini pill after me missing a few recently! We are going to try to conceive which is exciting! Has anyone experienced an increase in sex drive so soon after stopping the mini pill?

@Fudge2000 not the mini pill but I’m stopping my pill after this packet. Planning TTC next year and I’m hoping for an increase in sex drive! x

@Fudge2000 I wasn't on the mini pill but I came off the pill in January and only just started trying (we were using condoms after coming off the pill) I found that my sex drive increased whilst ovulating. Most of the month I am not bothered either way but can't get enough of it for 4 days a month 🙈 I was never like that with the pill 🤣

I was on the combined pill rather than the mini pill, so this may or may not be useful.

But when I stopped my pill I noticed a huge improvement in libido. It's odd, cause I'd been on the pill for 14 years or so and it was never a problem, to begin with. But after 6-7 years on the pill, it definitely began to decrease rapidly. I've been with the same partner that whole time, so it seems likely that it was a long term side effect of the pill rather than anything else.

My guess would be that if you had a higher sex drive before you took hormonal contraception, you definitely stand a chance of getting it back once you stop taking the hormonal contraception.

I always find my sex drive increases when TTC. Once I'm passed ovulation I can't be arsed! 😄

Not the pill but I had my implant out on the 11th August and I've got the biggest sex drive I've ever had. We were lucky to do it once a month before and now it's at least every other day, sometimes twice a day. My husbands now calling me a sex pest 🙈🤣

@Fudge2000 I am taking my last one tonight so I really hope so! I've had zero libido for the last 3 years or so and really hoping that is from the pill! I'll let you know 😂

I was on microgynon for 9 years and when I came off I noticed a HUGE difference in sex drive. My other half couldn't keep up!

@Serz88 I’m taking my last pill after 12 years tomorrow! I’m hoping for the same will happen to my sex drive haha. Planning on TTC after my wedding in April next year so will have to rely on condoms until then which I’m nervous about but thought it best to come off the pill now to give my body time to adjust x

@Purpleflowers21 I have been just using condoms from January until we started TTC last month and no mishaps there so you should be fine 😊

Combined pill. Stopped in March and sex drive shot through the roof from the first cycle. BUT much lower in my luteal phase now...pretty non existent in luteal to be honest 🤣

@purpleflowers21 best to use condoms as I came off the pill at the end of April and decided to TTC straight away thinking it would take ages and we have just had got out first positive test :)
