TTC after coming off the pill?

What is the general rule of thumb for TTC after coming off the pill? Can we start straight away? Or do I need to wait for withdrawal bleeding/a period first?

I’m finishing my last pill packet at the moment but not planning on TTC until after our wedding in April next year. Some people advise to have time off the pill for your body to regulate (I’ve heard of done people taking 6 months after coming off the pill to go back to normal). But there’s also people who get pregnant without having a proper period when stopping.

The reason some people wait for their first proper period is so they can date the pregnancy or try and date ovulation. There's no medical reason you need to wait really.

I'm taking my last one tomorrow but not going to start trying until December I don't think...
