I'm 34 3/4 and have just hit the 6 month mark. My doctor agreed it was sensible to check my bloods and do an ultrasound now. I said I was nearly 35 and best to get it out of the way now before covid cases go back up.

Has anyone else started testing? What tests did you have? What did you find out?

Does anyone know what they can actually find on an ultrasound? Can they check for blocked tubes?

Hello :)

The first tests they are likely to do are blood tests. So they do one on 'day 21' of your cycle to check if you have ovulated (note that day 21 can sometimes not literally be day 21 for you, it should be seven days after you have ovulated it's done).
Some do day 3 bloods also. Your partner will need to get a Semen Analysis

We had the above done through GP and was then referred to fertility clinic. Clinic did an ultrasound on me to check foliciles and how everything looked, then we arranged a HyCoSY - this is where they check your tubes. They basically insert water and dye into your tubes and watch it come out the other end to make sure you have clear ones. There's also the option of a HSG. Those are how you check tubes and can't be done by just an ultrasound though.

Good luck with everything :)

Thanks. There's quite a waiting list at the minute so hopefully I'll get pregnant before I need too much investigation Grin

Bit of a random question, but would anyone say this was (was 2 months ago and af came) positive? Trying to work out if it'd be worth getting hycosy or not as it's super expensive.
