Come one, come all ! A thread for those TTC after coming off hormonal contraceptive pills.

Discussions typically include:

• Baffling temp charts
• Absent or oddly timed EWCM
• Whacky cycle lengths
• AF gone AWOL (current high score is 141 days post pill)

@musicaljojo I know the feeling! I'm so glad I initially went on the pill (painful periods/acne) but I was scared to come off in case all that came back with a vengeance. I now wish I'd just come off it ages ago to regulate periods before wanting to ttc! Cd22 still no sign of ovulation

Hi @TheDaydreamBelievers I think if you temp stayed around where it is now (36.5+) then your app should hopefully confirm ovulation. Did you get any peak OPK's or any other signs (EWCM/High soft cervix)?

I was surprised that despite my low temp reading this morning FF still identified me as ovulating on CD18. I'm hoping my temperature rises again tomorrow?! I am putting my low temperature down to a couple of glasses of wine last night and a rubbish nights sleep (due to the former... )

@Kay00 - yup theres a positive OPK the day before ovulation is predicted and the day of too.

I dont seem to get EWCM at all and have no experience with cervical feel. To be honest most working days I wouldn't have them time to fiddle about having a feel between clinics anyways!

@TheDaydreamBelievers Haha, fair enough. I am quite lucky that i'm working from home at the moment as it has given me the freedom to pee on as many sticks as my heart desires and to really get to grips with my cervix (it has been a fairly eye opening year for me!!). I don't get any EWCM either. I tried taking EPO in the run up to ovulation but it doesn't seem to have helped.

So i did catch my peak yesterday on my strips in the evening and CB so guessing I ovulate today? Shall i mark CD15 or 16 as ovulation? We DTD again last night but just be nice know which day to mark so i can see whether my LP is ok :) thanks xx

@Flowerkm If you had your peak yesterday then I would mark today as your peak , sounds like you're in with a good chance this month!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm unfamiliar with this type of chart so am struggling a bit to read it. Looks like you'll need one more high temp to confirm ovulation - ignore their predictions though, they just need to be higher than your pre-ovulation temps.

@Kay00 Thank you, I hope so. We DTD quite a bit but we shall see, not putting to much pressure on it as its only the first proper cycle TTC so hopefully these 2 weeks go quick so I know either way.
It's still all so new to me but think Im getting there. Theres no way i could temp 😂 Id be so confused!! These charts are good to look at that though, Im slowly understanding the graphs a bit more. Xx

Well my period decided to finally appear at 42 days today over a week and half difference from my last 2 cycles so at least I know where I am now!

What time do you find it best to take your temperature when tracking?

@musicaljojo I set an alarm for 6am daily, I have found that if I take my temp +/- half an hour from 6am then it is usually an odd reading and I discount it.

Morning girls, sorry I haven't had time to catch up with you all. I just wanted to ask your advice...

So on day three of our honeymoon and I've woken up to find I'm bleeding and I have no idea why! I thought I was about 4DPO, but FF put ovulation a few days earlier. I've attached my chart but it's not great as I missed two temps the night before the wedding and the night of. Also was feeling quite unsure as to whether ovulation has happened as temps haven't been all that high, but then it was higher this morn so was feeling better, but then got up to find it looks like AF has arrived? I'm thinking a possible annovulatory cycle?! What's everyone's thoughts? Can't help but be a bit worried as this doesn't seem right at all, and not ideal that it appears I now have AF on my honeymoon 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi @MintGreenLife are you bleeding a lot, like AF, or is it spotting? It would be very strange for you to have come on your period whilst you temperature went up. Similarly, you could be 10DPO (according to FF) so it could be your AF I suppose.

Hi @Kay00 thanks for replying. I wouldn't say it's spotting, I had a fair bit of proper blood (bright red) when I wiped first thing. I guess I'll have to see if it sticks around all day, I've never had spotting before though. At the most I would be 8DPO, but I'm fairly certain that can't be right as you will see from my chart I continued to have EWCM (and a lot of it!) after FF's predicted ovulation day x

@MintGreenLife yes, I saw all the EWCM, you have had loads (I never get any)! Is it possibly implant bleeding? Hopefully you will not continue to bleed xx

@Kay00 I think it's unlikely 😔 I'll see what happens over the next day or so. Like you say though, strange that my temp went up and then I woke up to bleeding! Never had anything like this happen before so not sure what to make of it x

@MintGreenLife Hey :) hope you're having a lovely honeymoon. Sorry to hear this, hopefully it stops and it does't get in the way to much of your time away. See how it goes and whether its AF or not.
As i don't temp i cant really compare it but fingers crossed it settles xx

@Flowerkm thanks so much for replying ☺️ So crappy but will try and forget about it. Don't have any tampons with me and we are in rural Scotland - didn't expect AF until after we got back! Not sure whether I'll need any as hoping this will pass, just unnerving as I've never had random bleeding or any spotting before! X

@MintGreenLife Oh bless you 😔 thats really crappy, hopefully it does stop. Does seem very random, and you're sure it can't be implantation?
Its not from having sex is it? I used to bleed after sometimes when i wiped, was very random but had it checked and all was good but was just so random and was bright red. Never found the reason why, it seemed to settle and dr was ok with it all, just a thought xx

@Flowerkm I'm fairly certain as I don't think I could have ovulated any earlier than just 4/5 days ago because of the continued EWCM, but FF thinks I ovulated 8 days. I guess if it stops shortly I might be a little clearer on what's going on and could just assume it's spotting and not AF, who knows! Why is everything so complex ha. Shouldn't be bleeding from sex as we didn't DTD yesterday, plus I've never had that before xx

You can literally spend hours thinking and thinking about it all. Honestly I know we said before but I cannot stop thinking how complex it all is 😩
Try and take your mind away from it all if you can and fingers crossed it stops xx

Sorry to hear this @MintGreenLife try and enjoy your honeymoon and not think about it, easier said than done! Its so easy to not stop thinking about it and if you’re anything like me I then spend ages looking it up on doctor google 😂

@MintGreenLife Congratulations on your wedding, hope you had a fabulous day! Sorry to hear about the bleeding, it's just typical isn't it! When I was away at the weekend I had some bloody CM and I'm now wondering if that was ovulation? I don't temp and didn't bother with OPKs while I was away. I guess I'll know in about 10 days time! I seem to remember something similar last month, although I've switched apps so it's a bit difficult to track.

Also, for anyone who might have AXA health insurance, I realised yesterday that I get free private GP appointments with their health insurance, so I've booked an appointment for Tuesday. I know it's early, I'm only 4 months off the pill, but it's getting me down. I need to know whether I'll fit the treatment criteria for the clinic we've chosen because if not, it will have a dramatic impact on finances! It's quite a good service, you even get to pick your GP. Naturally I went for a GP specialising in women's health and fertility. They can also make the referrals to consultants if needed. Fingers crossed I might get some bloods done!

Turns out this is AF as am still bleeding today and temp dropped, although I had to retake it as my first one was freakishly high. Seriously considering Agnus Castus now. Has anyone had any experience with it? This cycle will be our last chance at timing it well for next years rescheduled wedding party, not sure what we will do it it doesn't work out. I'm about 6 months off the pill now, and after ovulating and having a normal luteal phase last cycle I really thought that was me back on track. Can't work out if I even ovulated this last cycle or if I've gone back to a super short luteal phase, is seriously starting to annoy me now 🙄

@MintGreenLife I haven't, but I've got some soy isoflavones on order, they are supposed to help with ovulation 🤷‍♀️ I'll let you know in about 100 days 😂 (if I don't laugh, I'll cry... currently CD42) x
