TTC and prozac

Well I'm feeling a little broody, but maybe not enough to actually DO anything about it (yet!)

I am on prozac, and I really need it! Does anyone know about TTC or early pregnancy and prozac - effects on the fetus etc? Do I need to come off it if I get serious about TTC?

I would speak with your GP about these matters; this person would be the best one to advise you.

I agree, we're happy to give our opinion on anything on MN, but it's no substitute for a professional opinion if you're talking about particular drugs.

If you really need to be on Prozac right now then stick with it and put aside any thoughts of TTC.

There was a big study carried out in 1996 with regard to pregnant women who took anti depressants. If you 'Google' you'll find the results. Upshot is that it won't prevent you conceiving and there is no increased risk of miscarriage. However the baby is far more likely to be premature, undersized and to have breathing difficulties.
