Could this be implantation bleed?

Had some spotting and cramping today. One week since ovulation and a week and a half till AF due (I have slightly long cycles).
How soon can I take a test?
New to this ttc business!

It could be!

Slightly unrelated point. Do you know for sure (as sure as you can be of course) that you ovulated a week ago and that your longer cycle is because of a long luteal phase? Or are you just assuming you ovulated around day 14?

Usually a longer than normal cycle occurs because of a longer proliferative period and later ovulation than a longer luteal phase after ovulation. So if you have a 28 day cycle, you might ovulate on day 14 and have a 14 day luteal phase. But if you have a 35 day cycle you may ovulate around day 21 but still have a 14 day luteal phase. The luteal phase can vary and last up to 17 days but usually 12-14.

Sorry if you know all this but you said you were new to TTC so I thought it might be helpful!

100% agree with what @MajorFaffington has said.

Interesting! No I didn't know any if that, thanks you @MajorFaffington
I'm pretty sure I ovulated then as I have very distinctive discharge (soz tmi) which a doctor once told me was ovulation discharge.

@Wwydiywm I don’t think There’s such a thing as TMI on the conception board Grin

You’re right about using the egg white mucous as a marker, but you might find using an ovulation test even more accurate in helping you pinpoint ovulation.

Good luck and fingers crossed!
