Hey

I've been using cheap Ovulation sticks for 2 months. This month I've tried the Clear Blue ovulation sticks hopefully it'll be third time lucky.

I got my smiley face so done the deed on this day and the day after. Previously I've been having sex for 5 days upto ovulation so thought I'd try another way. The previous cheaper sticks didn't seem too accurate either.

I got my smiley face 3 days ago. I tested this morning and it's back to O (no surge) which is fine but today I've been getting thick gummy discharge - I usually only get this on the lead up to ovulation. Does anybody know what this could be, if anything?

The sticks only show that your body is trying to ovulate, not that it has. So you can have multiple LH surges in a cycle before you actually ovulate - ie if you test again in a few days you might find that you have a static smiley again? Only way to know is if you track your temp.

Are you sure it was EWCM though - can it stretch between two fingers? or just creamy CM?

Thanks for the help. I got 2 static smileys Mon and Tues, tested this morning and now O. It's clear, stretchy and sticks between two fingers - sorry!! Assuming that's EWCM?!

Thanks again x

@Els88 I've had the exact same thing! Some months, the EWCM is bang on with the static smiley, sometimes is a good few days after. Like you, I'm down for trying another way. Previous months we've been DTD two days before and the day of, but each month we've missed. I did get PG earlier this year with that same pattern (ended in MC) so was hoping to recreate the same result, but I've learned so much about my body and how it really is on its own schedule. In my mind, EWCM is the undeniable indicator, even if the surge happened much earlier than the CM appeared, it's nature's way of telling you "I'm ready!" Based on what you've said, sounds like you've ovulating... the LH surge happens before you ovulate (obvs everyone is different, some it happens quickly, others it takes 72-hours). Keep DTD couple of days before, on the day, and throw in a couple of times the days after too. Best of luck, I really hope this is your month :-)

The best way in all honesty is sex regularly and ditching the ovulation tests I had a miscarriage last month me and my other half decided we was going to just go with it and enjoy each other I’m
Now pregnant again instantly after miscarriage good luck

@Allgirlmum congratulations on your BFP, that's amazing news. Especially after a loss, so many of us have been there and prayed for the same thing, it's always great to hear success stories where it worked out.

I'm sure you didn't mean it, but your reply is a little insensitive. We all know regular sex is the best way. Many have had recurring losses, many have been trying for years to get pregnant, many are dealing with a number of fertility challenges. People need to (or want to) time this as best as possible during the fertile window to maximise their chances of success. Telling other women to ditch the ovulation tests is not appropriate TBH.

Wishing you a healthy next 9-months Flowers

I am so sorry to hear about your previous MC but I am over the moon for you now. I really hope your pregnancy is going well and I wish you all the health & happiness for the future. Thank you for sharing - fingers crossed it's my time soon xxx

I think I've got a positive! I'm not due on for 2 days so the line is faint but I'm praying I'm right! Clear Blue were hopefully worth every penny!
