Just wondering what people's experiences are when testing early for pregnancy? Was it accurate, which pregnancy test did you use, what time of day did you test?

I'm 4 days until my period I usually am starting to feel my period come on by now I'll usually be uncomfortable for a few days before but I don't feel my usual self so I'm wondering if I could test early. I know it's only 4 days wait but it seems really long to me lol.

I got a BFp when I was max 10dpo. Do you know how many days post ovulation you are?

Harri891 · 02/09/2020 11:46

Both BFPs ive had negative tests until 14 DPO, which was a couple of days prior to my period being due.

Good luck OP

I’ve always started testing around 6dpo. I’m bad I know. First pregnancy I tested day of af and carries full term, she’s now ten

Second I got negatives right up until 14dpo and sadly MC few days later, 3rd I tested negative again at 14dpo and miscarries just before 7 weeks . 4th I got BFP at 10dpo and again sadly miscarried few days later

5th and current pregnancy I got BFP at 7dpo and I’m now 10 weeks and I’ve had 2 scans all progressing perfect.

Every pregnancy is different and it means nothing when considering how early or not u get ur BFP

Good luck for ur BFP!! Xx

@2020wish thanks so much for this post. I am feeling really strung out as this time last cycle (t days before AF), I had my BFP, which became a chemical. I hoped I'd get pregnant again this cycle and have turned into a testing mad woman. Everything is BFN and I just want to cry lol. My boobs were so much sorer last month as well. It's great to read posts like yours which show that it can be different every time. Being 40, every cycle is precious time slipping away.

GanderousGoose · 02/09/2020 14:37

That should say 6 days before AF not t days Hmm

2020wish · 02/09/2020 14:47

@GanderousGoose it’s awful isn’t it getting that BFP and watching it slip away. I know how ur feeling. Don’t give up and keep only, u can get pregnant, ur body just needs to find that perfect egg. Make sure ur partners sperm is up to scratch also tho as they can affect early mc. So ensure he’s taking all his pre vits as well. I started myself on low dose aspirin this cycle and progesterone cream from amazon. So I think the aspirin may have played a part for me and my midwife is supportive of the aspirin. X

My af is due in 2 days. No symptoms just a little levic pain and tired. Really tried this month not to overthink every symptom and test too early. Anyway cracked last night and tested with a Internet cheapie. Got a very BFP and again today. Haven't told my dp as I still can't believe it. Need to buy better brand test before I believe it. Still think my af will be here in 2 days.

PinkPlantCase · 02/09/2020 20:07

@2020wish sorry for your losses Flowers

Though your BFP at 7DPO is making me really want to test, I’ll be 8DPO tomorrow...

2020wish · 02/09/2020 20:55

@Jacky209990 @PinkPlantCase if you are going to test early I would advise a reliable branded test like clear blue 6 days early. As internet cheapies can take a while to start showing positive.

I've had a bfp a day before I was due on - But I had loads of symptoms so pretty much knew I was pregnant. I would try to wait as long as you can- the first trimester is pretty stressful and the later you find out the less time to wait till the magic '12 weeks'. The earlier you are the more risky in terms of whether the pregnancy 'sticks' so there is a much bigger chance of being disappointed if you test early . I think from about 10 dpo you would be getting quite a few symptoms
