When should I expect ovulation post MMC

Hey everyone,

First of all - what a huge help this site is.

I experienced a MMC (Identical twins) earlier this month and had surgical management Under LA on the 18th August. I then got a negative pregnancy test the Sunday after (23rd). I had no bleeding prior to the procedure.

My only coping mechanism is to try again and hopefully get our dream baby.

I know it’s advised not to but I am trying to track my ovulation this month and pre-pregnancy it would fall on day 12. This would have meant I should have been ovulating yesterday but I’ve done OPKs since last Tuesday and all are coming up negative. The OPK I took on Sunday was slightly darker than the others but the line wasn’t darker than the test line so I’m counting it as negative.

Should I be counting CD1 as the day of my procedure or as the day I got my negative pg test?

I understand my body is healing and re-adjusting but any advice would be great Smile

@HPenthusiast sorry to hear of your mmc Thanks.

CD1 is the day of your surgical management. According to my app, I ovulated 31 days after my surgical management after mmc last year. I think it can be longer, less or you may not ovulate at all.

Unfortunately, my cycles were all over the place in the 8 months between my surgery and when I fell pregnant again.

Thank you @Chanel05 so sorry to hear of yours too. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but hoping it’s made us stronger.

Thanks for advising of your experience. I think I’m going to keep doing the OPKs daily and see what happens. Like you say anything could happen with my dates.

We’re trying the SMEP this month too so hoping to get our heads around all of it. It only took us 2 cycles and no OPKs last time so was a lot easier.

I used to ovulate on day 14. I ovulated on day 20 using the surgery as cd1

Like you the only thing that got me through it was focusing on ttc straight away. Currently 4 weeks + 4 days pregnant.

My implantation cramps were very painful tbough, & I’ve been struggling the last two days with af like cramps and praying they’re just normal early pg cramps.

Just to warn you, if you’re anything like me, the anxiety is ridiculous with every little twinge. I didn’t think I’d be so worried it was going wrong again. I’m not sure waiting a month would’ve made any difference with that though.

Good luck!

It also helped me to feel like I was doing something to ttc straight away again. I'm 38 weeks today - rainbow babies happen :).

Congratulations @Sansa87 that’s wonderful news and great to hear some positive stories. I will keep everything crossed for you!! Smile

I can only imagine when it does happen I will be a nervous wreck. I was bad enough last time trying to do everything right. Hoping when it does happen I don’t find out too early so I skip some nervous waiting time.

So Lovely to hear your rainbow baby is almost here @Chanel05 Hoping all goes well in the upcoming weeks Smile
