Immature sperm until 2 days?

I was speaking with a doctor that I don’t usually speak to and she said that you shouldn’t have sex everyday even during the fertile period as it takes sperm 2 days to mature. We’ve been doing every 2 days since af but today I got a static face on the clearblue advanced ovulation this morning which means ovulation in 12-36 hours. (Never got the flashing faces this month which I usually do for two days) Now I’m freaking out because going by the docs method we should be leaving tonight out but I’m worried this could be our last attempt this month And don’t want to miss it. What would u do, I’m tempted to do it anyway even if the wee guys aren’t quite mature yet

@Timetotry123 I think it depends on sperm quality as if sperm count and quality is low then every day is recommended. Sperm is apparently more potent first thing in a morning so could you maybe try tomorrow morning if you're worried?

Yes, doc is right in a sense. If you did it last night, the sperm is still inside you so could meet the egg in 12 hours. I would leave it tonight and do it tomorrow

That sounds like a good idea I didn’t realise the morning was better. I take it that won’t be too late as I just got the static face today.

I’ll do it tomorrow morning, I just get a bit like a maniac when I get the static face thinking need to do it now! Lol. It’s been 12 months(waiting on referral) so not holding my breathe but I still like to give every cycle it’s best shot.

Yeah I know what you mean. Every hour is sacred! I would try in the morning - maybe the earlier the better? Appreciate it's annoying that your "off" day is the day you get a static face 😕

If it doesn't work this month, and the same thing happens next month, you could always try doing it 2 days in a row. I'm no doctor but im sure doing it 2 days in a row just once isn't going to be a terrible thing?

I just did it last night I was frightened this morning would be too late (honestly TTC is making me a crazy person) but it was around 30hours between dtd’s so hopefully enough time to mature lol! With it now being a year I don’t get my hopes up anymore but fingers crossed it’s my month soon to get the good news!
