Sustained temp rise without ovulating?

Hello!

AF is due tomorrow, been feeling AFy and crampy for days (as standard for me).

I had a slight twinge this morning that was remarkably like the one or two intend to get right as I ovulate, which struck me as odd, so in the absence of anything else to do I took an OPK which came back absolutely blazing positive.

Ordinarily I'd assume that the positive OPKs etc from 2 weeks ago must have detected an attempted ovulation that failed for whatever reason and now my body is trying again, but the second half of my chart is as you would expect of an ovulating cycle: the day after my positive OPK on day 16, my temperature shot up over half a degree and has stayed there since.

I know this is all a stab in a the dark but does this sound like a "re attempt" at ovulation? Could I have not ovulated and still had a rise and elevated temps for nearly 2 weeks?

You could be pregnant?

I don't think my temp dropped between ovulation and BFP but it is a while ago so I can't remember exact details.

Fingers crossed...

You could be pregnant OP. It's not a reliable way to test by any means, but an ovulation test can pick up pregnancy so I'd maybe get a FRER! Good luck!

RMarieClaire · 31/08/2020 21:20

As others have said, could be that you're pregnant - test test test!

Whatthebloodyell · 31/08/2020 21:32

I had a sustained temperature rise after ovulation for two weeks. Turned out that I was pregnant! Good luck.

Oh gosh!!!!

Of course inevitably I am test-less at the moment and unlikely to be able to leave the house tomorrow. Argh!

Did you get a test @sheetspread?

sheetspread · 01/09/2020 21:03

Maddeningly no, but I'm hoping to go and grab one tomorrow as early as I can manage it!

The acne has got worse, and the headaches have kicked in now which is always an indicator that AF is imminent for me, but no sign just yet.

I'm invested in this thread 😂 please update!

RMarieClaire · 02/09/2020 11:18

@Stabal ha me too! OP can you order FRERs online?

sheetspread · 02/09/2020 11:24

Don't worry I will Grin no let up on the headaches so my suspicion is that AF will appear either (most likely) later today or tomorrow morning. But I'm still going to pop and grab a test and do it as soon as I get a moment to myself!

Have also been reading and discovered that a lot of women get an LH surge when their progesterone drops before AF so that would account for the positive OPKs.

@RMarieClaire I believe so, did think about doing this yesterday but figured it would be doable just to pop out today instead (wasn't an option y'day) so as soon as I get a moment I'm away! Joke is if I had ordered it 24 hours ago it would probably have come already!
