I'm a couple days late. Took a couple pregnancy tests (1 yesterday with FMU and 1 today wtih FMU). The test were left over from my last pregnancy two years ago. They were the IC tests too and noticed the expiration date was 5-2018. Tests came out negative. I'm still nursing my last baby (21months old). My cycle returned in Jan of this year and has been 28-29 days consistently except for the 2nd to last cycle which was about 6 weeks long.
I know it's so hard to know without doing OPK's and still nursing but what are the chances of those two tests really being false negatives? I went and bought more sensitive tests an hour ago and I'm wondering if I should wait until tomorrow morning to take it or just try to hold my pee for 4 hours and take tonight.
I'm afraid the test will be negative and I'll be disappointed though it would be good to know if I should be anticipating a period anytime soon since I do wear a white uniform at work and definitely don't want a surprise (I'm wearing a pad for now but I hate wearing them if I don't need them).
Anyone use expired tests and get false negatives? How far past the expiration dates were they? I guess mine are more than 2 years past the date so I'm guessing severely unreliable at this point.
