@AKC88 welcome! Best of luck! Fingers crossed it’s not a long process for you

@Mrsi2020 wow! Big progression there 🎉 how are you feeling??

@Minster2012 best of luck with the transfer. Very exciting times!!

Hope everyone else is doing well! Lots of messages yesterday so hopefully haven’t missed anything major for anyone, sorry if I have.

I’m really hoping this month is my month, I’ve been googling Christmas baby announcements all morning (I’m too relaxed now wfh!) and they’re so cute that it HAS to happen!! Mental I know... even told DH my plan, he said I should prob be pregnant first.. minor detail!
Heading into FW next week🤞🏼

2020mission · 09/09/2020 15:25

Aww @lucyrp can't imagine how frustrating it is having them so long! Surely you'll be adjusting back to normal cycle lengths soon 🤞

AF has started so i was worrying over nothing thankfully 😅 my next test date is now 6th October @Juno231. Sorry for always tagging you with test dates haha

I have the most confidence in @Minster2012 getting the BFP in October! But hopefully a lot of us will.

SarahTTC2020 · 09/09/2020 16:18

Hi everyone,
I got my Day 3 bloods back and she said they were normal. She's going to request my ultrasound, is leaving a pot to pee in at reception for a Chlamydia test and said to book in for Day 21 bloods when I think they might be (so I might track this cycle using OPKs). Also said for DH to request his SA.
She said in our area the upper age limit for fertility treatment is 34.. and I'm 32 and a half so I suddenly feel really nervous!

2020mission · 09/09/2020 16:56

@SarahTTC2020 how long have you been TTC? I'm wondering when I should see the GP. I've been trying for my first since January now and I'm 32, would be 33 when having a baby if I conceive anytime soon. That's worrying if the limit for fertility treatment is 34 in some areas 😬 too close!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/09/2020 17:04

It's a year when under 35 @2020mission but I went at 11 months and just said it was a year as it'd been 12 cycles by then.

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/09/2020 17:06

It's between 35-40 for ivf in London, you just need to look up your local areas guidelines. I'll try and remember the code for it. Something like cgc or ccg

Minster2012 · 09/09/2020 18:59

@SarahTTC2020 & @2020mission yeah it's all a bit of a postcode lottery with IVF full stop really, I would say to ppl start looking into it & pushing your GPS ASAP for instance some areas do 3 times funded (unless you get a pregnancy where the child is then 6 months then it's deemed successful and anything else is paid like ours) some areas you just get once chance funded and even then there are different levels of "chances" like if the eggs fertilise but a pregnancy isn't achieved but some areas say if eggs collected but not fertilised, or some areas are better whereby a "fresh transfer with additional frozen embryos" counts as one (so you can then have extra on ice for future IYSWIM so it's all worth exploring sooner rather than later

Minster2012 · 09/09/2020 19:12

@Clapham4 it's funny you should say about baby announcements, we announced DS1 on Xmas day, & if you don't know DS1 was carried by my best mate as a surrogate for us, which we did, in secret, the IVF, having laid breadcrumbs for our families saying all is not lost on the family stakes we would just need to use a surrogate, &Anne they should research that to get their heads round it, & it would be a long process, & IVF usually doesn't work first time. What they didn't know what that my best mate was going to be our surrogate & she was actually pregnant at that point but we'd had a couple of bleeds & were shit scared. So for Xmas day it was our first one hosting our 2 families together in our new house, & we paid for a private scan that week, 9 weeks. I was still drinking so no one the wiser. I had the meat sweats from cooking Christmas dinner for 15 ppl (first time for that too) I was calming myself with Prosecco & knew we had an announcement to make after the main course in a "fun scratch card way"

It was hilarious as it took about 5 mins for the Penny to drop "wait, someone's having a baby?" Who???" What???

After thinking we couldn't have kids it was amazing to share it with my family & I secretly filmed it on my iPad to show my (pregnant) best mate the moment we told our families she was pregnant with our child 😂🙈

My dad literally hid behind his napkin for 10 mins.
Brilliant. I loved it. Best day ever.
Having had a miscarriage since I've not got that far but I totally had them so I can COMPLETELY understand this. Go with it. Enjoy. It just might happen 🥰🤞🏻even now I still think...ooooo, if it happens now it will be a June baby 🤔so I'm still the same 😘

Clapham4 · 09/09/2020 20:32

@Minster2012 OMG! That is incredible!! Where to even start with that?! Your family must have been in shock for a while after the news, your poor dad in complete shock, so good! 😂😂 And how amazing is your friend? Such an amazing story.
How old is DS now? So sorry to hear about your MC.

Fingers & toes crossed for you for a BFP in Oct! You could be doing another Christmas announcement all going well 😍 lot of positive vibes for June babies🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Mrsi2020 · 09/09/2020 20:48

@Minster2012 that is an amazing story, sorry for your loss tho. I love that. I would totally surrogate for someone close to me if they struggled to conceive, I couldn’t do it for a stranger I don’t think but I could totally do it for my sister or best friend. Imagine being able to give that gift to someone ❤️ And imagine being able to be a part of a child’s life that you made their journey into the world to meet their parents possible, I think that’s just incredible and admirable 🥰 xxx

Mrsi2020 · 09/09/2020 20:50

Who’s testing next?!

I’m still progressing nicely, crossing fingers toes and droopy tits here that it’s all a good sign!

My rhr has stalled and temp dropped slightly so I might stop tracking those...

@2020mission i really hope so!

@Minster2012 lovely story ! 🥰 you'll be pleased to know i used your template for my email that i sent today 😂

Minster2012 · 09/09/2020 21:15

Ha ha ha don't worry! I'm the weird one in this group always knowing I would likely end up back in the IVF route after lockdown but having had IVF resulting in missed miscarriage in March it was the first time we could actually try naturally during lockdown so we might as well so ended up on this thread in may & was much more fun though from DS1 I have 2 lifelong friend from Mumsnet IVF thread who I see IRL do I know the value of these things 🥰I have malignant melanoma. Stage 4, even now, spread to various areas I'm a walking disaster 🤪

DS1 was 2 at the end of July and at the time I had life saving chemo treatment which in 2014 took me from "you have a year to life" to "no tumours but if you stop it you can't have it again and it's saved your life & costs £1600 every 3 weeks" so we just couldn't risk it. So in 2015 when I was told my tumours were gone & I was 30 with no kids it was like er ok where do we go from here 😫🤷‍♀️so I was told I could have my eggs harvested & fertilised on NHS with DHs sperm & frozen then we would have to pay to do what we needed with 🤷‍♀️as I continued my treatment. So that's what we did whilst researching surrogacy. & my darling best friend on my do said "I'm good at carrying babies if you are stuck I'll do it!" A year later we did it!

Last year I stopped my treatment as I now have in writing I can go back on it if my tumours come back (I've been on it 3 weekly for 5 years 😫😳a 4 hour round trip & 3 hours there!) but I'm stable & in remission & you wouldn't know at all so we did IVF to me with a frozen embryo (agAin in secret) and got BFP but found out just into lockdown at 7.5 weeks it wasn't growing so yeah it's now on me! But doctors confirm I dont ovulate my treatment since 2011 (since age 26 has put pay to that) so all our shagging is just for fun! But hey, practice makes perfect right 😘🤣

My best mate & her hubby & family are DS1's 'oddparents' as we aren't religious. They are AMAZING. They are our family.

Busybee143 · 09/09/2020 21:16

@Minster2012 what a beautiful story ❤️

Minster2012 · 09/09/2020 21:17

Sorry that's wrong it cost £6000 every 3 weeks, it would have cost us over £100,000 a year to do it so we couldn't lose it

Mrsi2020 · 09/09/2020 21:37

@Minster2012 you have defo been through the mill! Does your best friend have a soft spot for your son?! I love this story. The chemo sounds horrific and the travelling! So glad you’re in remission xxx

Minster2012 · 09/09/2020 21:53

Ha ha ha she does, despite him being a nightmare 😋we met up on Monday & her 2 kids were so well behaved (they are aged 13 & 11, mine 2) her boy was trying to keep mine in check & failing miserably! We were making plans for maybe them having DS1 for the weekend after the embryo transfer when I'm not meant to lift things (like a 15kg child 🤣) Shem duo is trying to implant & them having a weekend with odd child & us relaxing & letting bean implant hopefully like we had their kids when our bean was implanting with her 🤞🏻but then of course my parents have said "oh yeah your brother & nephew might be visiting that weekend so that my born in lockdown nephew can meet my DS" DAMN IT 😂😫

Clapham4 · 09/09/2020 23:04

@Minster2012 Oh wow, you’ve really been put through it!! Fantastic news you’re in remission. You more than deserve a BFP & healthy pregnancy in Oct, you’re owed it! How lovely to have such wonderful friends & support💕
Good idea to have a chill weekend without DS after the transfer, Hopefully the fam only pop by for an afternoon or a few hours🙈 and you can get back to relaxing and enjoying some chilled time.

Franklydear · 10/09/2020 07:37

Morning ladies
@Minster2012 what a beautiful story, and very hard at the time, I know
Nothing happening here, app telling me my last period was 38 days ago, poor thing is trying to predict a new cycle, so has ovulation down for today, no boobs, no cramps, no moods, no cm, don’t think so, ...

SarahTTC2020 · 10/09/2020 08:11

@2020mission only properly for 4 cycles but I just told them a year (it has been 15months off the pill) because I have irregular periods so wanted the blood tests in case there's something causing that.

DKDK123 · 10/09/2020 08:33

Nice progression @Mrsi2020, is it starting to feel more real to you now 😊

I love hearing your story @Minster2012, hoping this next transfer is the next chapter to your story of how your amazing little family was made 🥰

Dunno what my body's doing this month, had my usual post ov temp rise this morn but only actually got my static smiley on CB this morn so it must have peaked some point last night and had a very quick ovulation for the temp to have risen already as it usually doenst rise till a few days after my peak. I've not even had my usual FW horniness so I feel cheated out of lots of good sex this month! 😂 We have had sex once this week so there's still a chance if I did have a sneaky ovulation happen that there might be some swimmers in there but I'm more raging at the lack of horniness as this is my fav part of the cycle! 🤦‍♀️

Minster2012 · 10/09/2020 09:15

"Cheated out of my lots of good sex" 😂😫🙈love that quote @DKDK123 damn it what is going on with our bodies!!?? And @Franklydear none the wiser??

We ALL deserve our BFPS. Im hoping this is the month for us!

@lucyrp how much tracking are you going to do this month?

2020mission · 10/09/2020 09:47

@Minster2012 you’ve really had quite the rollercoaster! I’m so glad things have changed for the better though and your baby reveal story is lovely 💕 If anyone gets their BFP in October, I do hope it’s you. I've always found you to be one of the most upbeat ladies on here 😃

@Vil10 we need you to give us September good news please haha it feels like most of us are just waiting for October now

Vil10 · 10/09/2020 10:18

@Minster2012 that's such a lovely story!!

@lucyrp have you started with your tracking??

@2020mission hahahhaa I hope I can give you all some good news!! Think my testing date will be about 19th/20th, af is due on the 20th around about!

So good news we've managed to change our holiday again!!😂 going to Antalya, so hopefully I'll have a little bean joining us🤞🏼

Ladybird345 · 10/09/2020 11:11

Hi Ladies,

Congratulations on the BFPs 😊

I'm now on cycle day 68 and still nothing, no real changes with my ovulation strips although had EWCM for last few days so no idea what's going on there and no BFP 😒

Don't even think it's worth me testing for pregnancy at the moment!

Good luck for anyone testing soon 🤞
