Pain during ovulation

Hi,

I got my static smiley yesterday on CB OPK and have been following SMEP so have been DTD quite a bit recently. I notice that quite often on the days around ovulation I get dull low achey pain similar to period pains and continuously feel like need to poo but am actually really constipated. Do others get this? It is not the sharp one sided pain I sometimes also get, it is more general dull pain. I can't work out if ovulation or having DTD so much or both that's caused it. I also panicked having googled that it might be endometriosis, but I don't really get bad period pains. In fact I'd say current pain is stronger than my normal period pains! Any thoughts?

Ovulation pain (mittelschmerz) is quite common, and nothing to worry about. I used to get it when I was younger. It happens on the side you're ovulating.

If it becomes unusually severe or you get other symptoms - high temperature, nausea - it's worth getting it checked, but if it's mild it's nothing to worry about.

Just another of those lovely little bugs features of the female reproductive system.

I think this is what I'm currently having but it isn't as bad as period pain. It's on my left side and it's a very dull ache/pulling. Not sure I've ever noticed it before

Thanks both. It is definitely more general i.e. not on one side but hopefully nothing to worry about. Just find it odd that I get this and, as I say, for me it is much more noticeable/annoying than period pain!

I get it on both sides, sometimes with a bit of blood streaked ewcm xx

I'm currently feeling this right now! I sometimes get sharp one sided cramps in my hip area, and sometimes I get dull aches all around my uterus. It often hurts to do a BM while feeling this pain and sex can sometimes hurt too. Do you ever feel pain while DTD around ovulation? I'm worried it's a sign of endometriosis :( (thanks Google!)

Sophi123 · 30/08/2020 22:57

@acaciabluebell YES! Exactly this and exactly the same worries! It doesn't hurt so much during it but does afterwards. I worry about endometriosis too because of Google but as I say I don't have the symptoms it describes around my period so doesn't feel like it's that. Maybe is just strong ovulation pain. Hopefully will equate to a strong BFP in 2 weeks! Had my first BFP back in July but ended in CP. Hoping will happen again soon!

@Sophi123 I also don't get much symptoms/pain around my period - in fact my ovulation pains are often much more painful! Glad to find someone in the same situation as me! Best of luck with your cycle xx

@sophi123 hey! I alllllways get pain for a couple days round ovulation. It isn't generally the one sided pain it's like painful bloating type pain, like really uncomfortable low down, I did feel ovulation pains one sided sharp pain m, then the bloating stopped as well this month but I don't normally x

PurpleIsTheColour · 31/08/2020 07:53

I normally get ovulation pain around the time when my ewcm is the most and my peak opks. I used to think that it means that my egg is being released but according to my bbt I actually ovulate on the day after the pain... I have never really thought of it as an indicator of endometriosis simply because in my case it's just a pulling mild pain, nothing compared to my af pains that are always very painful, but if you experience something moderate/severe I would talk to your GP at least. x
