So, I'm 11dpo and got a BFN this morning. I know I'm still in with a chance but I want to get preparing for next month in case af comes (which I think is likely.
We've been trying for four months, had one chemical and a miscarriage at 7 weeks (but that was last December before we were trying). I know it's only four months but I'm 41 next month so feel a bit of pressure now because of my age.
So far we've taken a relaxed approach and just been having sex a lot.
How do I actively try? What are the first steps? All the talk of temperatures/ovulation tests etc is quite overwhelming.
What should I focus on first, in your opinion, for a good outcome ASAP?
I don't even know where to start tbh! I never had a problem getting pregnant with my older kids so never had to worry about it, but my oldest is 19 and youngest is 13 so it was a very long time ago!

Both improve your health in general - lots of water, fruit, veg, low alcohol and coffee. Take prenatal vitamins (esp folic acid)

Have sex every 2nd day at least. If you use lube, make sure it's a pro conception one (preseed or similar).

Then next step up would be temping to ensure you are ovulating when you think. Plus OPKs at key times. I agree it is quite stressful and I'm currently only doing this occasionally whereas you really need to do it all the time (temps and OPK) for it to make any sense at all. I think next month I'm going to try to be consistent with it! It's super hard as soon as you add travel or a late night or anything.

What the previous poster said to be honest! If you temp and have sex every other day you can skip ovulation tests though. Temping would be good for you to make sure you're ovulating every cycle and there's nothing wrong - like eg your LP being too short. At this age there's no point wasting time winging it each cycle but rather note any potential obstacles to conceive ASAP.
