Pregnancy test 7 days before period?

Even if you were pregnant would a test taken a week before your period was due always be negative?

Im not due on for another 8 days or so, so not sure why I even took it. Does this look more like an evaporation line than a very faint positive?

Usually it would be too early! But it depends how many periods you have missed. No harm in trying though.

I can see the line and it does look like it has colour to it. I wouldn’t get too excited though as blue dye tests are notorious for evaps. Try a frer in couple of days

Thanks ladies. I haven’t missed any periods and I only stopped the pill last month. My boobs felt a bit painful so I thought I’d test thinking it’s highly likely to be too early. It looked negative so I went downstairs for about half an hour then came back up and noticed the line. I just wanted to see if anyone knew much about evaporation lines and if they could see a faint line too or if I’m just seeing things!

I can see the line you mean but I'd say it's an evap especially if it didn't come up in the time frame.
Were you on the pill for a while?
Ovulating and hormones fluctuations in general can cause sore breasts. I get sore boobs every tww!
If it IS a genuine positive it'll get stronger in a few days so might be worth testing again then? Good luck!

@MrsKin90 I’ve been on the pill since I had my little boy so just over 3 years. I’m not sure how quickly it came up as I did it, probably gave it a minute or so and chucked it in the bin! So it might’ve come up within 10 mins. I need to work on my impatience! I was thinking that maybe the boobs hurting could just be from hormones leaving my body! x

I only asked as I was on the pill forever and came off to TTC my first (still trying) and was shocked my how much hormones played with me 🙄😊
I think we're all guilty of throwing a test in the bin and then having another look! ... And opening tests and shining lights on them 😆
Would be interesting to know if it develops into anything over the next few days for you 😊

If you saw the like outside the window I would then say that this is most probably an evap line, especially when you're so early x

My first pregnancy test I took was negative (after AF due) came back an hour later and saw a faint line...now have a two week old!

@GlitterGreySparkle I got lots of 'pregnancy' symptoms in the first three cycles 😆 sore boobs, loads of nausea and couldn't stand the smell of lots of things I usually love to eat. Also zero energy. I think it was all my hormones regulating and getting used to what ovulation/rise in progesterone can cause as I'd not knowingly experienced it before. My tww "symptoms" are never the same from one month to the next either other than getting a bit of sore breasts and heartburn. 🙄 Stupid body.

Maybe it has just been side effects from stopping the pill.. I dunno! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did a first response test tonight and nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️ So either it must’ve been evaporation lines or my hormones are too low on an evening to pick anything up! x

@GlitterGreySparkle oh bless you. How frustrating. Try to test with a frer with first morning urine if you are going to test again!
