so i'm fairly new to the ovulation testing, i got a positive yesterday so DTD, but it's confusing me massively, ive done one this morning and LH surge had dropped and then tonight test line very faint, so have I ovulated??

basically if i'm going to do these, when do i know when to DTD, is it the run up before i get the positive test or day of and after?

Hi! Basically the answer is all three Smile. The OPKs detect a surge in LH Hormone which (if strong enough) will result in ovulation. Your ovulation can happen a couple of hours after your LH surge up to 72 hours after (usually 12 to 48 hours after). So you want to start DTD qhust your LH is starting to surge then, at your peak and again in the day or two after. Good luck!

As soon as you get positive opk dtd and continue to do so for the next 3 days I’d say even if test goes to negative.

After a few months you will roughly know when u are due to get a positive opk and you could dtd in the run up to your positive opk as well.

Don’t stop because your test turns negative though as you can ovulate two days after your positive opk so your still very much in the game.
