Confused... 2 static smiley faces in 1 cycle

Hoping someone can help me...
I'm using CB digital Ovulation sticks. This cycle I started using them on day 12 of my 32 day cycle. I had 5 days of flashing smileys and then solid smiley on day 17.
I'm now day 24 and had some v mild cramping - I wouldn't usually get period pain until 24-48 hours before period- so I used one of the ovulation sticks and it was a solid smiley... so 7 days after the previous time when I assumed ovulation was occuring.

I'm wondering if I didn't ovulate last time and now am, even thought it's late in my cycle. I'm due my period in 8 days, is that very late to ovulate? OH not around tonight so I'm worried about wasting the solid smiley!
Would appreciate any advice thank you

Strange. Do you monitor CM or bbt?
I've heard ovulation tests can pick up hcg but it's early for hcg.

You definitely could have failed to ovulate and so your body is trying again.

If so then your period won't be due in 8 days. It'll be due (or hopefully not due) at the end of your luteal phase. On average this is 12-14 days after ovulation.

Have you DTD at all in the past few days? You don't have to do it the day before/ day of ovulation. Is your OH around tomorrow?

Thanks for replying. I haven't monitored either of those so far, I will next month though to get a better idea of what's going on! As my period due a week tomorrow not sure if it's too late for this to now be ovulation about to happen... will aim to dtd tomorrow just in case

What @Curiosity101 said. It's not that unusual for women to have more than one LH peak as they don't mean you ovulated, just that your body is trying to. So if it fails the first time it will carry on trying. It's always the last surge that results in ovulation.
