Ovusense

Hi Ladies,

Just wondered if any of you had any experience with ovusense?

I’ve been, unsuccessfully TTC since November 2018. I think this is, in part, due to bad timing. I did have a chemical pregnancy back in March but other than that not a sniff of a BFP. I drink too much water to get on with OPK’s and I know of end up getting up in the morning before remembering I hadn’t taken my temperature!

So, last night I bit the bullet and ordered an ovusense sensor. I’ve been looking at it for over a year but I turned 39 last month so I haven’t got time to keep gaffing around.

I’m now just looking for some hope that I haven’t completely wasted my money....

I used ovusense for a while before we got our male factor diagnosis and moved on to ivf. I really liked it. It pinpointed my ovulation every month and was really easy to use compared with conventional temping as you didn't have to take it out the same time every morning. I even used to take it out to pee in the night and pop it straught back in and it didn't affect the results. There is a Facebook page that is really good, alot of people who will help you interpret your graph. Good luck

That’s great, thank you for the info @Mseddy.

I started using Ovusense a few cycles ago, as my Daysy wasn't showing any ovulation. I've had two months now where my ovusense has shown I've ovulated (my Daysy didn't) but I also had a CD21 blood test that showed I had ovulated. I'd recommend it to anyone now!

Best thing I ever purchased on my ttc journey. It confirms when I ovulate ( I've pcos so cycles all over the place )

Can I ask, @PlanBea and @dublino which package did you purchase?

I’ve also been looking at getting on and not sure whether to just get the basic and add on subscriptions as I need it, or pay extra for the pro? What exactly do you get extra with the pro?

All I need to know if when my ovulation is and my fertile window. Assuming that the basic package gives this info so I’m not sure what I’d gain by getting the pro one.

Any recommendations?

@Moominmiss pro is for when you're seeing a fertility specialist and allows you to share info with them. I have a 12 month basic subscription, as it worked out better than getting it for 2 then paying for a rolling subscription.

I've been wondering similar things OP, so that's to the insights from those who have responded.

Does anyone know how useful it is for an irregular cycle - is it only useful for confirming ovulation or can it indicate that you're coming up to ovulation, even for those with irregular cycles?

PlanBea · 23/08/2020 20:16

@smoby it does give you a fertile window, it does move if it thinks your cycle is different from normal and then confirms the ovulation a few days after. They do say they are ideal for irregular or problem cycles, and I've found them really helpful when I've contacted them with questions

Moominmiss · 23/08/2020 21:11

Thank you @PlanBea that makes sense.

Can I ask, I’ve read some reviews where people say if you have an iPhone you need a separate ‘reader’? What is this?

I have an iPhone X. If I order OvuSense will it come with everything I need?

smoby · 24/08/2020 08:42

Thank you @PlanBea

PlanBea · 24/08/2020 10:48

@moominmiss the old iPhones didn't have NFC readers I believe and so needed an accessory to be able to load data to the phone - I think the X has one so can work fine directly with ovusense. It asks if you're using an iPhone 5/6 or iPad and then will include a free NFC reader with the package. I didn't need one as I'm android and had an NFC built in

Ooh so glad someone asked this as I was wondering. Have heard good things about the Ava bracelet too but ovusense looks like it might be best.
