Ovulation pick up pregnancy?

Has anyone had any experience of an ovulation test picking up a pregnancy result? I test ovulation every morning via clear clue fertility monitor and I also do a stick test. The only reason I am still doing it even though I know I am not ovulating is because it is my first cycle on the fertility monitor so it wanted me to test for a while. For days I haven't had any lines and the monitor shows I am passed my
Peak, but this morning my stick has a line on it but I haven't had that for about a week, the last time, when I was ovulating? TIA

It can do, how many DPO are you? Normally if an OPK is picking up a pregnancy then a sensitive HPT would be able to pick it up too.

There can be an LH surge shortly before your period though, so it could be registering that.

Thanks for the reply, I am 6DPO. Due AF in about a weeks time, next weekend. The fertility monitor didn't pick up anything which I thought it would if I was ovulating. I

When you started doing the stick tests did they register LH before the fertility monitor?

Does the fertility monitor calibrate to you? If so if it knows what a 'peak' is for you then maybe that's why it's not showing anything even if there is LH present.

6DPO would be very very very very early to get any sort of BFP from an OPK or HPT so it seems more likely that your body may have failed to ovulate and is potentially gearing up to try again. It's impossible to know.

I guess just keep doing what you're doing and it'll probably become clear over the next few days?

The monitor found my peak and my high days and the sticks ovulating sticks were positive at the same time. Yeah that's what I thought I was just shocked when I seen the line plus I am absolutely useless with all of this stuff haha! Thanks, I'm not going to test anymore after today I'm just going to wait for my period and test if it doesn't come :-) thanks!

Is the opk positive, or does it just have a second line? A fully positive opk (darker than the control) could indicate pregnancy if you're a day or so before your period, although they've never picked up pregnancy for me.

Easylikesunday · 22/08/2020 10:10

This happened to me BUT I think I was at least 9DPO

I might be working out the DPO wrong, what day do I calculate it from? My first peak day?

Nah, it isn't as dark as the control line although it's pretty dark! Considering there wasn't anything there since i ovulated last weekend that's the only reason I was like hmm that's weird!

I think it's normal to have fluctuations of lh during your cycle. You're not out, but I wouldn't read too much into it at this stage. 🤞

Ooh that was more than a year ago! But I believe it would be from the strongest positive oviylai test

Easylikesunday · 22/08/2020 10:25

*ovulation

There are a few reasons you can get a positive OPK not Ethan once. 1. Multiple surges -usually the final surge in the ovulation point. (I've had months in the past where I've had 3 surges. I never fell pregnant those months). 2. Surge before AF. 3. OPK detecting HCG making it positive (this would be very close to AF, including the day of or after). I've experienced all three of these as I've always tested everyday so I can get a clear idea of what my cycle is doing -my cycles went a bit awry for a while.

Yes me. I came off the mini pill on 17th January to try for number 2. Waited a month or so, no period so bought some of those cheap opk strips to see if I was ovulating as I had no idea what my cycle was anymore. I started testing straight away and got a positive and thought great crack on, but for some reason I continued to test even though I know the ovulation window is small. I tested each day for a week and got a positive every time. I read an article that said sometimes OPKs can pick up hcg so I thought ok I'll do a cheap test. That was the 29th February, I'm 30 weeks pregnant today.

My opk was positive 8DPO when I got pregnant, followed by a faint BFP on 9DPO x
