Chemical Pregnancy?

I got a BFP on Weds and then early this morning started bleeding. It's now gotten heavier and more period-like. Is this a chemical pregnancy? And do I need to do anything? I rang the GP and she gave me a number for the EPU but I can't get through to them. I'm guessing there's not a lot they can say anyway. I'll keep trying them I suppose. I don't have any pain or anything though. Do I need to wait to have a period before ttc again?

No, you don’t need to do anything, EPU won’t do anything with it being so early anyway.

You don’t need to wait or anything to start trying again, just treat the start of the bleeding as your cd1 like you normally would and carry on.

Sorry for your loss btw, I’ve had 1 mc at 9 weeks and 3 chemicals in the last 6 months so I know what it’s like.

X

Sorry forgot to say yes it does sound like a chemical pregnancy.

What you can do though is take a test after your bleeding has stopped just to check it’s negative.

If you still get a positive then I’d contact the EPU and explain you had a bfp, then a bleed which made you think it was your period, but that you’re still getting positive tests.
Obviously lots of women do just bleed in early pregnancy and it turns out to be nothing, so you never know, it could just be a small bleed.

When would your period have been due? Has the bleeding started around the usual time you’d have expected it to start?

This happened to me last month, I spoke to EPU as it was really heavy but I had no pain and they said that if my bleeding continued for more than 4 days to contact GP or became worst. If not to do a test once it had stopped and if negative there was nothing I needed to do and that Mother Nature took its course and that we could try again as soon as we were ready. If however it is still positive then contract them. She did say that a lot of people do get a heavy implantation bleed so fingers crossed for you! 💐

Thanks for the replies. I thought that there would probably be nothing the EPU would do at this early stage. I had early bleeding when I was pregnant with DD and had an early scan as I also had pain in one side, but this is much heavier period-like bleeding. It's a little later than my period would have been as I didn't take a test until my period was a few days late. I was starting to feel nauseous yesterday and that's gone today (just got a banging headache) so I feel pretty sure it's a loss. I will test when the bleeding stops though.

Good to know that I don't need to wait for another period before trying again.

I’m so sorry, I had the same in July, BFP on a FRER and 1-2 weeks on a digital and then 5 days after AF was due my period came, it’s horrible x
