Anybody BFing and TTCing?

About to try to ttc no.2, DD 11 months old and still BF 5/6 times a day, despite my best effort . There appears to be little evidence that BFing really does increase MC rates but I suppose I am also worried about feeling so tired already let alone pregnant and looking after a BF toddler who has given up sleeping through the night.

Anybody else?

yes I am also ttc, but ds2 is 3 now and only bf once a day. I have found that even this little amount of bf really affects my ovulation pattern (not that it was very regular in any case) and sometimes it's ages before I ovulate. So I'm not expecting much, just enjoying the freedom of not having to use contraception!! Tbh until I cut down on ds2's night feeding we weren't having sex much in any case...

There's some good info on kellymom.com about breastfeeding and fertility, plus La Leche League do a leaflet about it which I found quite helpful.

I'm getting very regular periods like I did before DD and I feel that I am ovulating day 13-14 like I did before but I haven't used ovulation testing kits. I'm a novice at ttcing as I only tried for one month with DD and got very lucky.

Yes. DD 20 months and bf's twice a day. Ovulation is regular and predictable, but we've been trying for nearly a year so far with no success (but took us several years to conceive dd too).

Hi,
I got pregnant twice while breastfeeding. We weren't trying to conceive. So, it's definitely possible. DD was 13 months when I got pregnant with DS. and DS was 14 months when I got pregnant again. I suppose once you get your period back you can get pregant at any time. Mind you, both DC stopped right in the beginning of the pregnancy. DD stopped even before I found out, and I thought it quite odd for her to stop suddenly from BF 3-4 times a day to nothing . Ds stopped when I was 6 weeks pregnant.
