I’m at 12months TTC usually pre af spotting started yesterday I’m out this month.

I have been referred to the fertility clinic which I have just phoned and found out it’s around a 16 week wait at the moment so I’m at least another couple of months away from being seen.

As I have said in other posts I have a feeling my spotting is a reason why I’m not conceiving. I’ve been taking B6 to help with this for around 7-8 weeks it did help a little this month. I am getting so down about it all. I asked the the fertility clinic if my GP can prescribe clomid as I have seen others GPs too but they said that’s dangerous as I need to be scanned etc and can over stimulate.

Has anyone used progesterone cream can this be dangerous? If you have used it how do you use it and at what point in your cycle ?

Any help appreciated?

Clomid was to stimulate ovulation I think whereas it sounds like you're worried you might be spotting due to low progesterone?

I don't think progesterone creams are advised without guidance from a GP.

Have you had your day 3 and day 21 bloods taken? You should be able to do those tests at the GP and not have to wait for a fertility clinic referral.

In the mean time - might be worth adding omega 3 and Vitex to your supplements?

I know 16 weeks feels like a lifetime but in the scheme of ttc, it's okay to wait and keep actively trying until then. Pursue blood tests with your GP and don't self medicate.

I've been there and we conceived after 14 months whilst awaiting an appointment at the fertility clinic. I have no barriers to conception and my second took one night of unprotected sex and I also conceived whilst using condoms. I've no idea why my first took so long but I was just an outlier to the norm.

Can I ask why you think your spotting is the reason you're not conceiving? I always spot for 2 or 3 days before af too (on cycle 8 atm), but not at other points in my cycle.

Fingers crossed you get seen soon Flowers

Yes I’ve had those bloods done and everything was ok and showing I was ovulating. Oh I’ll add those supplements thanks.

Glad you conceived at 14 months maybe hope for me yet I just feel everyone around me is announcing pregnancies. I may hold off from buying progesterone cream for now.

I just have a feeling that the spotting isn’t quite right I know lots of people get it but it can be a sign of low progesterone which is what you need to sustain pregnancy in those early days. I usually get it anywhere from 3 to 6 days before this month with B6 it’s 2 days before. I wish I was wrong and it was implantation bleeding but that is just wishful thinking it’s the same as it is every month Smile
