Hey!

Been looking into SMEP but not aure if it is best to just dtd every other day? Dp sperm count is within the normal rnage but on the lower end, if that makes a difference?

What do people recommend?

Tia.

I mean smep is essentially to DTD every other day - with the exception for the three days around ovulation to maximise your chance.

Totally agree with what @Juno231 said.

Based on the research papers I've looked at you're probably looking at similar likelihoods of falling pregnant really whether it's SMEP or just every other day.

The only thing I would say is that SMEP suggests you stop after your 3 in a row days after you get your positive OPK. Which is fine... so long as you definitely ovulated. If your body failed to ovulate for any reason and therefore tries again then you will end up missing your chance that month.

DTD every other day until your period arrives (or a BFP) means you definitely do it either the day of ovulation and 2 days before, or the day before ovulation and 3 days before. It also comes with the added bonus that you don't need to use OPKs unless you want to.

Do what feels right for you Smile

We usually dtd every other day up until cd13 and then every day (if we are not dead bored of it) up until the surge has passed. I ovulate cd15 most months so it’s just about doable and the days after the surge when I can just pop into bed not having to think about baby making are the best days of the month for me.😂😂
