Premom Advice - low readings

My premom opk test lines never seem to show up "dark as or darker than" the control line. It gets almost as dark and then drops again. my ratio is never above one like in the examples online. the highest number ive gotten is 0.78. Does that mean I'm not ovulating?

I have a similar issue, but my highest reading so far has been 0.51! It may not mean we are not ovulating, some women do have lower levels of LH.

Have you recently come off hormonal birth control?

I had this but I changed the opk sticks I used and get better results. I was using one step and changed to wondfo

When yours get that dark, how often are you testing at that point? Surges can be as short as 4 hours so when the tests get darker you might want to up the testing to 2-3 times a day in order to catch the peak. So could be that the lines get fainter cause you missed it, rather than it not happening at all

@lawandgin i came off two months ago. Does it take time to build up?

@juno on the days where it showed up a lil darker i tested at 12pm and 7pm. I maybe needed to do one in between?

@GeekMammy I came off nearly 3 months ago. It can take time for hormones to regulate once you come off, but it is very frustrating. My highest reading was on CD12, so I either missed my peak between the afternoon of CD11 and 12, or it hasn't happened yet. My last cycle was 58 days!!

I think that if you’re only testing twice daily and leaving a big gap in between you have a pretty high chance of missing it. I use the one step opks and test three times a day, 6am/12ish, 6pm and then around 10 (opk obsessed I know😅) and i’ve noticed that my reading can be really low in the morning and by lunch time it’s on peak levels, so if your peak is short you might have missed it. Try testing more often once your app says you’re day before ovulation and you should be able to catch it.

@purple thanks for the tip!
