Hello everyone

I have just ordered some OPKs, they should come on Friday. According to my app due to enter my fertile period very soon

What I would like to know is, what are the tips of getting the best use of OPKs? What are your experiences that worked well?
I.e: what time of day? More than once a day? FMU or not? What part of my cycle do I start testing?

Avg 27 day cycles with 5 days AF. CDs vary month to month but only by a few days (one month could be 26, next month could be 28). Have been reassured this is normal/regular tho?

Thanks in advance!!!

General advice for OPKs is to test daily until you get a line beginning to form. Then start testing twice daily until you see your peak. Also try not to use really diluted or really concentrated urine.

It can also be useful to use an app like Premom to read them for you.

The only other thing I can think of is to make sure you read the packet before you use them. Unlike HPTs the OPKs sometimes take a long time to finish measuring (one step are 10minutes before they're done and ready to read). Also it should tell you when to start testing but if you sometimes have 26 day cycles I'd start testing around CD9/10 at the latest to be sure you catch your peak.

Thank you @Curiosity101!!
Appreciate the tips and thank you for the app recommendation. Might take me a few cycles to notice some kind of ‘typical cycle’ but hopefully I’ll get there :) x
