Struggling with opks

So I’ve been struggling so much with opks and just general ovulation that I’m sure it’s sending me slightly mad !

So I have 30 day cycles (give or take a couple of days)

I’m currently on day 16 with a negative opk I have tested morning and afternoon since cycle day 12 and all I have got is cycle day 14 and 15 a slight pink link on an opk and I mean really slight definately not a peak .

So since cycle day 12 I’ve had ovulation symptoms I’ve had cramps, mood swings and I’ve felt a bit wetter cm but no Ewcm and my cervix is high and feels soft and open.

I feel like I’m ovulating but no positive opk it’s getting me so down I’m so confused am I ovulating or not ? It’s making me panic and worry I’m not ovulating . Any advice on this do you think I could be ovulating ?

I think you could have a little longer to wait. I ovulate CD22/23 I have always done this even when my cycle was 32 days (I am now regulating pp so not consistent).

This month I ovulated CD 25 and had watery CM as much as 12 days earlier!

If you can try to BD every other day and test with OPKs a few times a day so you catch any spike.

On a 30 day cycle I usually ovulate around CD16-20. Keep at it! X

Keep at it like the previous posters said - but it used to drive me mad too so I've been temping to confirm ovulation and I find it really reassuring to know I haven't missed a peak or misread the opks. Might be something to consider for next cycle? The thermometer only costs £10 and Fertility Friend is the best app for it and it's free!

Just wanted to agree with PPs. On average a person's luteal phase (time between ovulation and period) is 12-14 days long.

So for a 30 day cycle you'd probably expect ovulation on CD16-18 and it could be later as your ovulation date isn't fixed. I was CD21 this cycle so expect a cycle length of 33/34 days this month.

I only used opks for one month and never got a peak despite testing 2/3 times a day once they started getting darker. I've attached what I got on femometer app, but I got my bfp so I guess I did ovulate and just missed my peak! I'd carry on testing in case you ovulate later but it might be that you've just missed it.

@workingmama1 the opks I took around cycle day 14 and 15 looked a bit like yours they just never got any darker than that I may have missed the peak.

Luckily we dtd a few times around that time so hopefully it was timed ok .

I am still going to do a few opks through the rest my cycle just to get a general idea see if the other ladies are right the I might ovulate later in my cycle .

It’s only my 2nd cycle ttc so I’m still new to tracking everything .

Congratulations on your bfp ! How many cycle did it take you ?

My luteal phase is only around 10/11 days so in a 30 day cycle I wouldn't ovulate until CD 19/20 so I wouldn't panic yet

Have you recently come off birth control? It can take a while for your cycle to regulate if you have

Brendon7 · 18/08/2020 15:20

@polkadotpixie

I haven’t been on birth control for 4 years so not worried about that. I have started taking pregnacare vitamins though which I have heard can delay your cycle .
I was just getting worried thinking maybe I don’t ovulate but realistically I probably do as I have symptoms every month it’s just learning to understand them and when I actually ovulate :[ Last month I used a clear blue which was telling me I was in my fertile window on cycle day 7 So maybe I missed this one and I ovulate early ?
