Hello from a long-time lurker! And now here for some advice...

TTC for the first time, came off the pill in March. Cycle is normally between 26-29 days long. Am currently 16DPO and period was due to start next week. Spent all of last week convinced I was pregnant - chest really tender and sore, felt sick and bloated. But then period began totally unexpectedly yesterday (and tenderness has stopped) - meaning I've had my shortest cycle yet! (23 days)

I was wondering if anyone could advise - does this just sound like a normal cycle and am I reading into things too much? (It's the 23 days that's throwing me. But could the heat have effected that?!) Or could it be a chemical pregnancy. I'm so confused and have been trying to use Google to work out differences between period/implantation bleeding/chemical pregnancy Confused

Have been using Flo to track periods/ovulation/etc for five/six months now so maybe am being too reliant on the 'accuracy' of that and am just reading into everything way too much! And perhaps need to look into other methods.

Thanks in advance for any advice Flowers

When you say you were 16 days past ovulation but your period came on cd 23 - do you think you ovulated on cd7? How are you tracking ovulation?

I wouldn't reply too heavily on apps, they were way out for me and are much more accurate now I use opks and measure my temperature.

It can still take time for your body to adjust after the pill, so it could be your cycle settling.

Thanks for your reply! According to the app, ovulation was on July 30th, with my period due to start on Aug 19th. But it actually started yday (14th), which is far earlier than usual. The 'symptoms' last week were too early to be my normal PMS... and also felt way more extreme than normal anyway. Not sure if it was my body playing tricks on me, or the heat having an impact or what. In defence of the app, it's previously been pretty spot on in terms of when I can expect my period. So confusing! Confused

@discoballs88 if you ovulated around 30th July and came on yesterday that's average for a 14 day luteal phase which is normal. Sounds like you ovulated a few days early this time.
I ovulated last Thursday and am due on next week - luteal phases are usually between 10-16 days, which yours seems to be. Without tracking your cycle, it's difficult to say for definite though.
