@bellabella84 love that idea, get fit and keep your mind busy! We have been thinking that we could treat ourselves to a nice bottle of wine while AF is there. Just before I am relegated to zero booze, may as well get some fancy nights in (although nothing wrong with the £7 Tesco bottle in my fridge now!).
Just trying to make these months feel a little less of a countdown Smile

Bramleyapples13 · 30/08/2020 15:02

We've just started doing the couch to 5k. It's keeping my mind busy and less time to dwell on things!

And then eating half a pack of biscuits for energy when I get back 😁

BellaBella84 · 30/08/2020 16:47

Oh my days, so having lost count of how many times I've cleaned the bathroom to get me through the two week waiti thought I'd have myself a bath. Sounds good right? So which flippin genius bought me a black lush bath bomb for Christmas?! 🤬

Welliedays · 30/08/2020 17:03

@bramleyapples13 I did couch to 5k earlier this year and it really does make a difference to your fitness, mood and figure really quickly.... I haven't run since I did the 5k but now I'm 5 weeks pregnant. Part of me likes to think it got my body in a better condition which possonly helped, but who knows!

Daffodil21 · 30/08/2020 20:17

@Tofu35 I've just opened a £4 bottle of Aldi wine so £7 Tesco is fancy compared 😂 (AF arriving)

I can't believe I got so hung up on a shitty FRER when I KNOW their reputation! Really should know better by now but it's the first glimmer I've had in ages!

@BellaBella84 that is historical 😂 I hope you at least felt vaguely relaxed afterwards?!!

@Welliedays you have motivated me to get my shit together. I'm going to order some scales right now and stop being in denial. I'm not 'overweight' by some people's terms but I am definitely the heaviest I've ever been and most importantly I don't feel very fit and healthy.

@CEW19 how are you doing? Has AF arrived?

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 30/08/2020 20:21

@daffodil21 you'll need to let me know your aldi recommendations, I don't drink too much so I stick to the labels I know- Aldi is too unknown! Although Lidl cava at Christmas is always a winner!

Bramleyapples13 · 30/08/2020 20:40

@Welliedays I've read that fitness can help with TTC and I'm definitely not healthy! It's worth a go, and can only help with other things too.

@Daffodil21 and @Tofu35 Lidl do an absolutely beautiful Montepulciano. A few supermarkets have the buy 6 get 25% off offer on at the minute too.

I also cannot believe I'm advertising a drinks offer in the same comment as trying to get fit to try help my pregnancy efforts 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Daffodil21 · 30/08/2020 20:53

@Tofu35 it's the Aldi one which just spells out 'Pinot Grigio' in large letters on the front of the bottle 😂 in Scotland it's over £4 but in England it's £3 something! Absolute bargain!! Ooh @Bramleyapples13 I'll have to give that a go sometime too.

I have got a cocktail night planned on Saturday with some friends 🙈 and then the following week DH and I are having a long weekend away which will certainly involve some drinks (the only plus side of having a long follicular phase!) then I should probably take it a bit easier 😳

@Bramleyapples13 it does feel a little 'wrong' but we've got to have some down time too!

OP posts:
BellaBella84 · 30/08/2020 21:32

@Welliedays we'll spur each other on! I'd maintained my weight loss for a good 6 months and then just at the end of lockdown 18 hours of on call in my finest Chernobyl style work clothes finished my back right off! It's taken a lot of physio and painkillers mixed with the occasional pitty party for one, but I'm back on my feet. I think I'm ready to test a power walk at least 3k if not 4k. I used to do 15k a week in what feels like another life time ago! 🚶‍♀️

BellaBella84 · 30/08/2020 21:37

Forgot to tag @Daffodil21 and anyone else who wants to get involved! Would it be better to start a new thread?

CEW19 · 30/08/2020 22:44

@Daffodil21 looks like af, it’s picked up today and cramps are giving me a right kicking too. Weird that I’ve had spotting since Wednesday though, not normal for me at all. Have my blood test and ultrasound booked for the 16th so will have answers soon. Now on to the next cycle!

Have felt a bit shit today. Bumped into a friends who said “I’m surprised I haven’t seen a lockdown baby announcement from you, nudge, wink”. Just had to smile politely and change subject. And parents staying for the weekend, don’t know we’re ttc, and all they do is talk about babies and who’s pregnant and who’s just had a baby and it’s been a bit much. Anyway, that turned into a longer rant than intended!

Hope everyone enjoying their bank holiday! Xx

acaciabluebell · 30/08/2020 22:46

🙈 I need to lose some weight too which would probably help my TTC efforts!

acaciabluebell · 30/08/2020 22:53

@CEW19 So sorry to hear about AF :( R.e family and friends comments I know the feeling, and it sucks. Don't apologise for ranting, I'm sure it's relatable for most of us.

Hope all of you ladies are doing well. Still a bit confused as I still don't know if I've ovulated or not. I was hoping for a shorter cycle this month with an earlier ovulation but not sure. My LH level keeps fluctuating every day. Plus one of my apps is saying that I will ovulate on Tuesday, one app said I ovulated today, and my Premom app is saying I'm 5dpo 😂 who knows

BellaBella84 · 31/08/2020 08:16

@CEW19 Rant away, it definitely helps!

Daffodil21 · 31/08/2020 08:55

@BellaBella84 not sure @Welliedays can get involved 🤰🙊 looks like most of us on here are looking to get a bit healthier so maybe we could stick to this one and it'll give us something else to chat about?! Unless those who aren't would find it boring??

@CEW19 that sounds so shit!! People just don't understand that it's not as simple to just get pregnant! Hope you're ok ❤️

Really struggling today ladies 😪

I have once again spent half the morning (let's not lie, more than half the morning) getting distracted instead of actually focusing on work. So now I'm going to have to work later yet again to make up for it. Got to phone the doc in an hour to get blood results for prolactin and progesterone 😒

Not even sure why I'm posting. Just feeling rubbish about this whole shitty thing. I can't believe I'm still not pregnant after all this time. I'm not sure how long I can keep doing this for. How long can it take???!

OP posts:
Welliedays · 31/08/2020 13:19

We all have down days @daffodil21 so try not to dwell on it. I find if I'm really not focusing (mainly because I end up on my phone), I move all physical distractions out of the room and then make a lost of two or three small things to achieve and then tick them off as I do them - the key is they have to be small enough to be able to achieve them. I really think it helps to kick start your enthusiasm again. I had a really bad week last week (so don't worry, you don't suddenly get motivated once you get a BFP haha).

Wait and see what the results say, maybe they'll hold the key to why you've been struggling for so long. Keep smiling and thinking positive, I know it's impossible at times though

Daffodil21 · 31/08/2020 13:51

@Welliedays I did consider just unplugging the WiFi and putting my phone upstairs, but my boss might call (I don't have a work phone). I think I'll do this after 5pm when he wouldn't call anyway (will need to work past 5 now)

I've had the prolactin test twice already. I had it last June/July and the results were high, they referred me to an endocrinologist but then I got pregnant and the tests were never picked up again (in England). Then I had it again in Scotland in feb and it was in normal range. I'm not even sure what they'd do if it was high again. I've had the progesterone one before as well (in England) and that was clear then, plus I've conceived twice, so even if that came back as having not ovulated I'm not sure they'd prescribe anything.

I'm just spending my time researching stuff I've already researched a million times and thinking about what we should do in the future.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a good week last week, I hope this week is better for youThanks

Happy to have a get fitter chat on this thread, would love to join in :)

@Daffodil21 I'm definitely a distracted worker, I've been trying to force a "no internet on my phone until after lunch" which means I have to get out of bed when I wake up (no browsing half asleep) but it means if my boss calls, I can still pick up.

While I definitely still check recipe websites on my computer (a new distraction) I don't lose nearly as much time as I do on Instagram. My phone is like a quick hit to ease distraction but then i start the social media loop 😅

Daffodil21 · 31/08/2020 17:23

@Tofu35 ooh good idea with the no internet thing.

Sorry for yet another meltdown! Have given myself a stern talking to and feeling better now!

Also bloods were clear :)

Welliedays · 31/08/2020 17:31

@daffodil21 sorry, I've actually had a productive afternoon (not sure what has happened to me). It sounds like you've had such a roller-coaster I'm not surprised you're feeling how you are. I honestly feel so guilty that we've seemingly managed so quickly when so many people struggle for so long, but I also live in fear it could all go wrong and be over - probably not helped by my chemical last month... But if that happens we're out of ttc for a while as we've got our wedding next summer!

Bramleyapples13 · 31/08/2020 22:16

@Daffodil21 I hope you're okay. I've thought about you a few times and what you've said about what you're going through. It is incredibly difficult but by the sound of it you have a good support network for whatever you decide to do. I think sometimes we can get a bit caught up in our thoughts rather than distancing ourselves from them and keeping busy. To want to be a mum is an unbelievably brave decision in my view and you will be one if you want to be, it just sometimes takes longer or has to be done differently for some people.

Daffodil21 · 01/09/2020 08:50

Thanks @Bramleyapples13 and @Welliedays I'm ok now! I need to learn to get on with my life and stop dwelling. I'm going to start a gratitude journal which I've never done before because I feel I'm so focused on TTC that I forget all the good things, which other people would probably be desperate to have, and I'm just not appreciating because I'm so hung up on whether conceiving will happen or not.

@Welliedays I'm so so happy it happened early on for you! Enjoy the fact it did :) sounds like you have a busy couple of years ahead!!

My scales should arrive today so going to focus on improving my health and stop being in denial because I'm too scared to step on the scales!!

Also had a pregnancy dream last night - maybe I'll just go back to bed 😂

How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 01/09/2020 13:22

I love the idea of a gratitude jourmal @daffodil21, I think especially on a year like this, along with the stresses of TTC, it's a good way to remind ourselves that there is kindness and goodness happening around us. I keep a diary but it's once a week and at times reads like a prisoner journal, particularly in early lockdown where I obsess about times out the house and rationing food. I doubt I'll have any options to get it published later down the road 😂 maybe I should switch to your method!

Doing alright today, temp went up a bit after a few days of going down but that's maybe just par for the course. We're off on a mini-break up north this weekend, so I'm counting down the days!

Daffodil21 · 01/09/2020 16:10

@Tofu35 yes that's so true. I think I'm going to start it with the 'big' things I should be grateful for which are a constant and then daily put some little things in. Then I'll have something to refer to if I struggle to find much in a day if that makes sense!

So my scales have just arrived. I am mortified!! I thought I had a stone to lose, maybe a stone and a half, but I need to lose 2!! Oops... should have bought the scales sooner!!
