@Daffodil21 did you have quite long cycles before? Maybe it's settling down a bit first?

Also, has anyone gone straight to solid smileys and missed flashing ones?

Daffodil21 · 30/11/2020 09:05

@Bramleyapples13 yeah they averaged about 36/37 days but have been known to be 33 or 42 days. My positive OPK would suggest a 33 day cycle this month, which isn't usual but isn't rare (although was a little unexpected after mc). The day I got a static I tested at 5:30am and it was still flashing, then I went back to bed and we hadn't set alarms so we didn't wake up again until 10:30 😳 thought I may as well do a test and that's when I got my static, so maybe it just wasn't that reliable? I did have some ewcm though (not much, but we did use pre-seed).
I'm having to wear a panteliner now so I think it's just ridiculously early onset of AF. I hope this short luteal phase isn't going to e a regular thing.

Also, no I've never had blank then static, but I've read that can sometimes happen. I don't know why but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing?

@bramleyapples13 yes! I've had straight to static a few times, it's a menace.

Bramleyapples13 · 01/12/2020 19:32

What is a luteal phase? If your cycles are shorter, does that mean more chances at ovulation?

It is a bloody menace. Running into the living room waving my stick about going 'we have to do it now!!' wasn't the most romantic run up.

Tofu35 · 01/12/2020 20:16

Just watched the Brooklyn 99 where Jake and Amy are trying for a baby- it's pretty accurate! First it's exciting and then it's the baggy boxers, temping, tracking, and getting really disappointed every month. @bramleyapples13 there was definitely a bit where Amy demanded they do it now because their ovulation test was positive.

Way too close to the bone to be funny 😬

Bramleyapples13 · 01/12/2020 20:24

My names Amy too!

Daffodil21 · 01/12/2020 20:57

@Bramleyapples13 the follicular phase is the time up to ovulation, and the luteal phase is between ovulation and AF. If you have a luteal phase shorter than 10 days then I think generally the advice is to try and extend it (by various supplements I think). Not too sure on this as mine is 14 days (but my follicular phase is longer than average). I think generally it doesn't really matter what your follicular phase is, as long as your luteal phase is ok (but someone please correct my if I'm wrong!)

Have definitely been guilty of telling DH about a static too - have learned my lesson since 😂

So is the follicular phase to make the egg quality better?

Daffodil21 · 03/12/2020 07:22

So I did a test this morning.... 10dpo 😱

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 03/12/2020 07:23

Forgot to attach a pic 😂

Also @Bramleyapples13 I actually have no idea if follicular phase affects egg quality... not to my knowledge it doesn't but would be interesting to know (I should probably know this by now 😂)

My eyes haven't woken up properly yet, but is that a line?! 🤞

Daffodil21 · 03/12/2020 08:20

@Bramleyapples13 I think it may be! 10dpo and less than a 4 hour hold because I had to get up to pee twice in the night dispite intentionally not drinking anything after 7pm!

AF not due until Monday, and obviously even if we get that far there is a high possibility it will go the same way as the others, so will just have to wait and see!

Cannot believe it looks like I'm on my 4th pregnancy since august last year 🙈

How is everyone else doing??

OP posts:
Bramleyapples13 · 03/12/2020 08:34

Well that's amazing! I do hope it is! I shall be crossing everything for you 🤗 that is some going and hopefully you find out why (if you want to know) and that if this is the 4th one that everything goes okay. I bet you're all smiley and dancey about inside 😊

Tofu35 · 03/12/2020 09:00

10dpo? That's late for you testing @daffodil21 😉 let's hope that line keeps getting darker, fingers and toes crossed xx

Tofu35 · 03/12/2020 09:02

PMS this week, so AF is just round the corner. Which means it'll almost be time for trip to the fertility clinic and get the tubes checked. Nervous about the whole thing, with a sprinkling of concern about us having to leave our local authority area to attend the clinic (against the rules just now).

Daffodil21 · 03/12/2020 09:32

Thanks @Bramleyapples13 yeah we will find out the reasons for the last one in Jan. if we make it to Jan now it would be the furthest we've ever got. Tbh I'm not actually smiley or dancey inside, I'm just kind of meh, let's wait and see!

@Tofu35 I know 😂 I almost didn't bother testing today though! I only did because I have a phone app with the GP later so thought it made sense to!
It's better for to get checked - if there is a problem you need to know so you can fix it (there will be a fix!) let us know how you get on

@daffodil21 I'll be updating the group from the hospital bed, no worries 😂😂

Daffodil21 · 03/12/2020 12:55

@Tofu35 we'll be here for a hand hold!

CEW19 · 04/12/2020 21:47

Any update today @Daffodil21?

Finished decorating bedroom and put up new bed and mattress today, just in time to head into FW! So hoping for a successful month, been 11 months now with nothing 😩

Daffodil21 · 04/12/2020 22:08

Yeah I got a confirmation on digi this afternoon. I did one this morning but had an error message because I'd peed too much 😂 (too eager!) The EPU offered me a scan on 23rd Dec (approx 6 weeks) but I've cancelled it as I just can't be doing with all the uncertainties of early scans. Tomorrow is a month since the last loss so it's a little ridiculous that we're back on this rollercoaster again, but I'm too exhausted by the whole thing to worry about it until I have to.

Perfect timing for the bedroom, and a good excuse to test it out!!

@CEW19 forgot to tag you

Bramleyapples13 · 05/12/2020 09:07

How has your OH taken the news? @Daffodil21 I'm assuming it was an implementation bleed the other day? Did you have any pain? I felt like I was being stabbed in my abdomen last night 😕

@CEW19 a newly decorated bedroom sounds fab. What have you done? I got halfway through glossing the house and was bored out of my tree.

Daffodil21 · 05/12/2020 09:53

@Bramleyapples13 I think he was a little surprised but also happy? I was just like 'oh ok'. I went downstairs just as he was leaving for work waving a stick at him like 'I think I'm pregnant again' then I just sent him a photo of the digi one yesterday afternoon - gone are the days of it being a 'moment'.

Where are you in your cycle?? I don't want to get your hope up but that is something I've had every time. Every single time just after ovulation I've had pain, and then a week or so later i always get pains almost as if something is settling in there. I was pretty sure I was pregnant this time and last time because of this.

I'm not sure if it was implantation of progesterone dropping. It was from 5dpo so really early for implantation, but not impossible. I had some progesterone left over from last time which I started using as soon as I saw the brown which was handy

OP posts:
Bramleyapples13 · 05/12/2020 10:10

@Daffodil21 I've honestly thought about you a lot this week and everything you've gone through. I think you've been incredibly brave (I don't mean to be wierd so I am sorry! 🤣). I really hope this one sticks. What will the progesterone do? I've been reading 'It Started With the Egg' and although it is unbelievably difficult to read unless you're science oriented, it's really informative.

I'm 5dpo. I'd just got in bed last night and had about 4 or 5 stabbing pains on the right side. The last one nearly jack knifed me. It was not pleasant. I've obviously been Googling it non stop but I shall have to wait and see.

Daffodil21 · 05/12/2020 12:17

@Bramleyapples13 thank you, that's so sweet! I honestly don't feel brave at all though, you just sort of have to get on with it and prepare for every eventuality! I LOVE that book. It's on the coffee table next to me right now 😂 what did you take from it?
The progesterone may not be needed, but you need a good level of progesterone to support early pregnancy, and if it drops it can be a reason for it failing. It can't do any harm so I'm taking it just in case, but I started it when I got the spotting on 5dpo.

This does sound really promising. The first time I had it I was almost doubled over and had to sit down, the other times not as bad that but very noticeable. And every time I've thought 'ah ok, this again. Maybe this is the month' and then has been. Everything crossed for you!!!!!!
