Haha thanks @Daffodil21, legs up!
I think when we've used preseed before it's been during rather than before (so just as regular sperm friendly lube) but maybe I should actually use it properly 😂

CEW19 · 20/10/2020 08:50

How's everyone doing? I ovulated really late this month which is very unusual for me, so no idea what's happening on the inside this month! Actually quite like not knowing when AF might show, but I'm around 4dpo now.

Tofu35 · 20/10/2020 14:26

Hey @cew19, I had a horrible thought that I was the last gal standing on this thread - rename the thread TTTC (tofu trying to conceive). According to the temp app, I should be ovulating on Thurs this week so trying to get some ovulation sticks too so I can confirm this (as much as I can!).

Other half heard he has low morphology (but fine for everything else) so he's trying to figure that out- lots of articles and sighing because I think he had presumed it was something wrong on my end!

Tofu35 · 20/10/2020 14:27

I feel like saying "my end" is quite fitting but also a terrible choice of words 😂

Daffodil21 · 20/10/2020 14:49

@Tofu35 don't worry too much about the low morphology - my DH also has that. It sounds quite scary to start with, I remember thinking that meant we would never conceive. It's actually the reason we got the referral to the fertility clinic, but once we had our consultation there they were really really not worried about it at all, because it was the only issue he had. The consultants said that out of x million swimmers it still meant there were x thousand or whatever (I'm unsure on the numbers!) so there were plenty of good ones about still.

His first SA was 1.5%. I know a lot of things can affect sperm quality, and it changes every 3 months, but when he had another SA 6 months or so later it was 3%. He had been taking Proceive Max Men supplements which are designed to help. We then did a little research and he added COQ10 and Omega 3 supplements too, which are also supposed to improve sperm quality. Who knows if it did any good, but I have ended up pregnant so maybe!

The exact supplements he took were:

Haha it's good to see you're still in the thread, hope things are going well for you @Daffodil21! I'll let him know about those vitamins, he is Amazon primes biggest fan so if he can get them through that...we're onto a winner!

Daffodil21 · 20/10/2020 15:43

@Tofu35 I'm not quite sure to be honest. I had some brown spotting on Friday. I haven't had anything since but I had a blood test today and have another on Thursday to check if HCG levels are rising. They wanted me to go for an early scan but I really don't want that. Will find out Friday if HCG is doubling or not...

I am on a pregnancy board but tbh I find it hard to relate to the group - some people are further along than me and not everyone (thankfully) shares my anxieties so I'm not sure it's the right group for me!

Hoping everyone is hanging on in there and not going too crazy. TTC really is a rollercoaster!!

Hi all 😊 new to the thread. This is our first month of ttc baby no.2.
I have a 2 year old son.
I am now 1dpo and seeing every little thing as a symptom 😂 (even though I know implantation would have even happened yet)
So excited to be on this journey again, I looooved being pregnant before. Mainly down to the lovely group of friends I made through MN. We still talk and exchange guidance now through our fb group. I really hope to find this again this time!

Tofu35 · 20/10/2020 16:06

Aww @tabbycat92 that's lovely you're still in touch with your MN pals! This is a bit of a quiet thread, many of the posters have had their BFP and have moved to pastures new :)

I'm TTC #1 and it's now my 13 or 14th month. But def agree that the chat you get on these kind of forums helps a lot!

I'll have my fingers crossed for you @Daffodil21, Friday isn't too far away! It took me a while to find some good threads on this board too, hopefully there's some posters in the pregnancy boards that had a similar journey to you Flowers otherwise, I have 8 months to get pregnant so I can jump on another thread with you!

CEW19 · 20/10/2020 21:25

Haha don’t worry @Tofu35, there doesn’t see to be any sign of me leaving this thread any time soon 😂

A year since I came off the pill, and 9 months still we actually started trying now. Ordered a new bed and mattress today, coming beginning of December so I’m holding out hope for then. Spend a fortune on the place where you make the baby and surely it’ll happen. Right?! 😂

Welcome to the group @Tabbycat92 😊

Tofu35 · 20/10/2020 21:37

Oh definitely @cew19, seeing as we can't all go on nice hotel trips, I think a new mattress and bed sound exactly the solution! Hope you got some nice new bedding too!

CEW19 · 26/10/2020 11:16

@Daffodil21 how did it go on Friday?

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 11:33

@CEW19 Friday was the biggest rollercoaster so far! I'm thankful to be able to start by saying that all is ok for now. But my blood results came back and had hardly risen, let alone doubled. The doc thought everything was ending and so did we, but he sent me for a scan to basically confirm and check it wasn't ectopic etc. Got to the scan preparing for every possible eventuality, except I hadn't for one second thought it would be ok. But there it was, little heartbeat and everything. So for the very first time we have a teeny tiny scan photo. I have seen a heartbeat before, so I'm not going to get ahead of myself, but the sonographer said all looks ok at the moment, and I have another scan booked for next Monday.

How is everyone doing??

OP posts:
CEW19 · 26/10/2020 12:17

That's great news @Daffodil21! Every reason to be optimistic. Will you be monitored throughout or just the early weeks?

I ovulated late this month so technically 8DPO but AF came yesterday on my usual CD28. Going to take a break this cycle now and go again in December.

Poppyismyfavourite · 26/10/2020 13:33

@Daffodil21 keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! The early weeks are just absolutely horrible and so nerve-wracking, even without any "history", so you have my sympathies. I'd tell you to try and relax, but personally I found that unbelievably annoying!

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 13:47

@Poppyismyfavourite yeah it's not particularly enjoyable tbh, but I am so very thankfully that I am pregnant again. I'm just looking ahead to the next scan and not any further than that at the moment. How are you getting on?

@CEW19 I've been given an additional scan at 8 weeks and then I've got a midwife appointment a couple of days after, so I'll discuss with them then. A little worried we'll be left to it between 8-12 weeks if we're still going.
Could you take a break but maybe dtd the odd time...? That's sort of what we did last month (I left 4 days between dtd at the most important time!) and it did help feel like we were having a little break, but then actually ended up aiming anyway..!

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 26/10/2020 13:53

@Daffodil21 that's very sensible! You're sweet to ask - I'm fine thanks, feeling movements fairly regularly now, although as soon as I don't for a couple of hours I'm worrying that she's not ok... Another week, another worry lol! I thought I'd be fine after the 12/20 week scan / whatever landmark, but I think if you have the predisposition (which apparently I do) you just think of new things to worry about!

CEW19 · 26/10/2020 14:06

@Daffodil21 yeah we'll still have sex through the month but try not to watch the timings too much. I wear a fitbit and the rhr is spot on when it comes to ovulation and AF so I'll take that off I think. What else did you do differently this time? Thinking ahead to December and what I can do to increase chances lol

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 15:00

@CEW19 I actually did lots differently last month. I decided to throw the kitchen sink at it. Here's the list:

  • didn't do OPKs, didn't time anything
  • switched to whole milk only in tea, cereal etc, and out of a glass bottle to reduce plastic intake etc
  • filtered all my drinking water
  • acupuncture just before ovulation
  • reflexology
  • treated myself to a massage (just to generally help de-stress)
  • I had improved my diet a lot too (I was trying to lose a few lbs) lots of varied veggies - I 'ate the rainbow' as they say.
  • reduced BPA exposure where possible - basically didn't drink out of plastic water bottles, didn't eat any food that was cooked in a plastic container etc
  • used pre-seed (only once)
  • stuck my legs in the air after dtd (only once, and laughed at myself because I felt so stupid!)
  • didn't make sure we dtd every other day!
  • continued to take my supplements (r-alpha lipoid acid, 200mg COQ10 twice a day, floradix (the one with the b vits in it), high strength vit d (4000iu, now I take 2000iu), vita west omega 3 DHA and 1000mcg methylfolate (instead of folic acid)
  • DH continued to take his supplements (procieve max men), but we also added 200mg COQ10 and the vita west omega 3 DHA, methylfolate, r-alpha lipoic acid and l-carnitine

No idea if any of it worked but something must have!?

@Poppyismyfavourite a girl?! How exciting!!!! ❤️

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 15:27

@CEW19 it's interesting you say that about the Fitbit HRH monitor. I only started wearing mine the cycle before last, it there was a clear spike in heart rate on ovulation day. Then on the month I actually was pregnant it was all over the place in the TWW!

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 26/10/2020 15:33

@Daffodil21 yes! We both had a slight preference for a girl actually! DH says teenage boys are "too much trouble" hahahahaha has he met a teenage girl??? and I was hoping for one of each but slightly preferred to have a girl first.

Tofu35 · 26/10/2020 19:49

Eek @Poppyismyfavourite a wee girl! 🥰 And @daffodil21 so happy you heard a heartbeat at your scan!

Think I'm 2dpo currently, but we're trying to go a few days over just in case!

Daffodil21 · 26/10/2020 20:22

@Poppyismyfavourite that's lovely! So pleased for you!

@Tofu35 we didn't hear it, we just saw it. Tbh I was in such a state of shock I didn't really actually see it, I just heard them say it was there and ok (for now at least) then I was just kind of in a dazed zombie state 😂🙈 hopefully we'll see it again and hear it as well next week.
Oh noo approaching the dreaded tww! Good idea to go a couple of days over just in case. I suppose you can enjoy the 'break' now for a little bit at least! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Tofu35 · 26/10/2020 21:12

@daffodil21 thanks pal! We've been eating healthy the last two weeks so husband is looking forward to having a "filthy takeout" this friday as I'll be properly in the tww by then. Hoping you get to see the heartbeat at next week's appointment!
