Testing advice

Hello long term lurker looking for advice!

Have been ttc for 10 months however I have irregular periods typically between 4-7 weeks (more often towards the latter).

Last period finished on the 15th July, ddtd several times between now and then. And I'm fairly sure I was showing signs of ovulating about a fortnight ago.

I think I've been having implantation bleeding this weekend. I'm trying to work out when would be the best time to test? Would it be better to wait be patient and wait a few more weeks? Or would a positive test show at this point?

I'm really confused about ovulating/conception timing because of my irregular periods.

@Patchworkcats did you do any ovulation tests at all?

Statistically most people that go on to get a BFP get it by 12DPO. So if you ovulated a fortnight ago then you'd be safe to test and should get a BFP if you conceived.

It'll be really tricky to know for sure if you've ovulated or not though without testing.

There is an alternative way of timing when to take a HPT. If you assume that sperm lives for up to 5 days on average, then you can test 17 days after you last DTD as that should also show a pregnancy if you'd ovulated and conceived.

Good luck.
