After depo injection - trying to conceive

Been off the depo shot for 5 months now, no period yet. But yesterday I had brown stringy discharge which I thought was going to be start of a period but now it's went back to nothing. I took a pregnancy test today but says negative.

Anyone had this before first period after depo or had this and ended up being pregnant ?

I have had that after depo, it’s normal and a sign that your cycle and hormones are starting to level out for a monthly period again

Took exactly 12 months for me to have a period after the last depo injection for me.

Old advice was at least a year for normal fertility after depo. It took me two to have reliable periods and then conceive.
