CALLING BBT'ers! Does a 3.30am bbt drop count?

Question please for those who bbt chart. I woke at 3.30am today, i am 12dpo. My bbt took a drop below my line, but i never test that early. Do I discount it and stay hopeful or do I prepare myself for AF? It dropped from 36.7 at 6am yesterday to 36.36 at 3.30 am today. Right now as I type this it is 36.66 but it has been above 37 during the day all week, as high as 37.48. My AF is due tomorrow at 13dpo and I am testing bfn still. I had a light bfp at 9dpo, but i think it could have been an evap, it was very light (frer). What do you think? I feel so sick and crampy that if this isn't a baby it will be the worst pms I've ever had.

I have found that any BBT temps I took that were not a the same time (07:30 for me) where jumping all over the place so I discounted them. Is the 36.66 temp you took at 08.26 the same time you normally take your temp?

BKone · 07/08/2020 11:48

Hi @Kay00 thanks for replying. No, I usually take it about 6am, but I was up and walking the dog by then! I took my temp at 8.26 when I was back and rested. I've got a savage headache so I think AF might be looming and I'm turning my attention to next month, but I would be really interested to understand if there were exceptions to this rule that if your bbt drops before 16 days of bbt above the cover line then you're not pregnant.

Hi @BKone I would discount both your 3am and 8:30am temperatures. And hopefully you'll have a better night sleep tonight and can take your temperature at 6am. Good luck!

Thank you @Kay00 x

I'd discount it as it is so different timing wise - and bbt tracking is all about trends rather than one offs. In regards to your daytime temps, they can vary so much they're not much use for cycle tracking as it depends on activity levels etc, I know it's so hard to do but wait until tomorrow morning for more answers Smile

Thank you @PlanBea. I am tempted to just not track tomorrow. I think i will feel no better off either way until AF does or doesn't show. She is due tomorrow x
