Does your bbt go up even after a failed ovulation?

Ive started bbt charting this month for the first time. Really enjoy doing it and look forward to seeing the results map out on the graph.

I ask because normally my cycles are 24-36 days in length, but, by this months FF it seems i have ovulated fairly early (for me)...

Last month i was told i would be going back to work after furlough approx 2/3 days before O due & the stress of going back to work threw my O off by a week and i ended up with a long 35 day cycle. I was monitoring my cm and had ewcm on expected ovulation and then a week later. Af ended up being a week later than planned-which ties in with the last lot of ewcm.

Would love to know thoughts and have attatched my bbt 🥰

Hi, I have been tracking bbt for nearly a month alongside with starting to use lh tests( clearly not quite enough this month but am learning!) are you using anything else at moment or just bbt.

motherofdinosau · 07/08/2020 07:58

@Sip123 hi thanks for replying! Usually i just opk but trying bbt instead...have taken a couple but ran out so had a gap, and that appears to be when i ovulated!!
I wasnt worried anout missing a day as thought it was far too early for me to ovulate compared to normal 🤣🤣🤣

I can relate I left 30 hours between not really understanding and evidently looking at the before and after and bbt that’s when I ovulated. We were dtd over that time so a small amount of joe still.. it’s all a learning curve. My bbt has dipped a little but not too much and trying to not overthink it..

Sip123 · 07/08/2020 08:20

Also @motherofdinosau how do you know fault ovulation?

motherofdinosau · 07/08/2020 09:26

@Sip123 what cdare you now?
Im hoping it gets a bit easier to figure for any future cycles!

Last cycle: Going by my cm and possible ovulation pain, working backwards from af arrival date I can now see when ovulation was. I dont rely apps-i use them but more as a rough guide. I keep a paper diary...will attatch a pic of that cycle...

The increasing temperature comes from the progesterone which is released after ovulation. Day 12 for ovulation would mean your cycle would be around 26 days so this would match up with your typical 24-36 day cycles?

Kay00 · 07/08/2020 10:44

I agree with @PlanBea Sounds like you ovulated on day 12 this month and day 10/11 last month. But it does look like you had a long luteal phase last month (22 days).

Thankyou all for your comments...I have just taken an opk and got a near peak...will do another tonight and tomorrow and see how it looks! Its not a dye stealer but it is nearly as dark.
Dtd last night and husband away till Sunday afternoon so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

@motherofdinosau, that’s exciting, hope your next testing goes ok. Fingers crossed for you

motherofdinosau · 07/08/2020 22:20

Ok...so here is tonights opk. Looks like the one i did about 5pm could have been the 'come down' of the peak?

(Ignore the time on the photo i logged it later)

From my +opk on Friday (cd15) & temp change FF has removed the coverline and no dpo markers anymore.
I guess O didnt happen cd12 before temp rise and could be today (going by +opk) or still to come.

It’s hard to tell as there has been a bit of up and down.. I still don’t thoroughly get it all.. mine clearly increased after ovulation took a little dip then going back up, but this is first month of tracking/+ ttc!
