Opk positive?!

Hi ladies,

Currently day 25. Have been taking opks since day 8 with none close to positive. This morning at 11am I got what appeared to be a positive (test line as dark as control) however it appears to have dried slightly lighter than the control. This opk was done with concentrated urine as I hadn’t drank since the night before. I retested at 16:30 and it is negative. I’ve had some signs of ovulation yesterday and this morning. Do you think it could have been a very quick surge or is it common for opks to go up and down?! Maybe the concentrated urine affected it? Top opk is this mornings and bottom one from this afternoon!

Thanks!

it looks as though you may have had your peak hit if you ask me, i had 3 tests which were dark then it went even darker the next day, the following day it was lighter again. it strange yours is all in one day, id just dtd as soon as you can to be in with a chance as you should ovulate soon after a peak :)

Hmm very strange! I had done another opk at 8am and was definitely negative so if that was my peak it came and went super quick! We shall wait and see...thanks for your help! 😊

If I'm reading correctly you've done 3 OPKs today?

8am negative
11am positive
4.30pm negative

Is that right?

FxBB2020 · 05/08/2020 19:30

Yeah 🙈 I’m addicted!
8am negative (fmu)
11:30am positive (very concentrated urine...had not drank since night before)
16:30pm negative

Haha 😂 no judgement here. I was just making sure I was reading it right.

I don't know enough about OPKs to know if a surge can be that quick but if it's what you saw it's what you saw. I would assume it's correct, but probably keep testing just to be sure?

Good luck!

FxBB2020 · 05/08/2020 20:39

Thanks! I’ll keep testing alright as I’m not 100% confident the “positive” was definitely positive...looks to be but possibly ever so slightly lighter than the control!

Hi @FxBB2020. I've just started doing OPKs this cycle and can confirm that the results do indeed fluctuate! See pic of my results, CD11, 12 and 14 all had what look like positive results to me, but in between all those positive results I got a negative result. Today (bottom test in picture) is the first time the test line has been darker than the control line, so I think this is my peak.
You could have had a very quick peak, but you could also have fluctuating results. It's probably safest to DTD and to keep testing too.

Opk positive?!

Oh wow @Meg87! That’s a very strong positive you got!
I retested again this evening...yes I’ve done 7opks today 🙈😂..and it looks so so close to positive but certainly not darker. Fingers crossed for one like yours tomorrow!

The saga continues!
This was my test from this morning with fmu. Does it look positive?! Would invest in the clear blue ones but having taken 80 tests already this month I’d have to remortgage the house 😂

Opk positive?!
